if you are using AliasWavefront maya, in the oficial site you can download a difractive shader, like CDs.. ;)

No, I dont use Maya, but I will try to get more information about this shader, and, perhaps, discover how to simulate his effects in the MAX.
Thanks for your help, but I wasn't able to find the reference that you gave me... didin't find anything about possible CD anisotropic textures or shaders.:shrug:
Anyway... I will continue searching the web and I hope I'll find something.

No, I don't have a link to any anistopic shaders that simulate surfaces like CD's.
However I do have an idea of how you could make it. :)
Here's a tutorial about making anistropic surfaces of disks:

However the main problem is in the color.
I guess you'll have to experiment by adding a few colored fall-off maps in the self-illumination or reflection slot. Since falloff map uses the angle of the surface to indicate what color (out of 2) will be used - it should work. But you'll have to find a way to make non-illuminated parts not glow.
