Title: Polaris Concept
Name: Poyin Chuang
Country: New Zealand
Software: 3ds max, Photoshop, VRay
The design is a mixture of existing designs, plus a little of my own.
This was to test how far I could go with my modeling (it's got a fully modeled trunk, interior and engine, despite knowing absolutely nothing of the latter).
It's polymodeled in 3dsmax, rendered with V-Ray (using HDRI). Postwork was done in Photoshop.
All comments are welcome.
And yes, the steering wheel is on the right side of the car. :)
Edit:
Added a composition based on crits:

A good looking model.
The only interfering thing is this transition between ground and wall.

I agree there... the wall is useless... just makes your environment tighter..small.. not too use it has any real purpose here. An other thing... if yu showing off your car to let us enjoy the design of it... opening all doors might not be the best showcase option here, it does kill the shape of you car... but those are issues obviously really easy to solve... would be good to see an other render of your car with closed door and no wall in your scene.
For the rest the modeling seems very good and you render looks great! ...so good work, tweak a bit your presentation, that's all !

I agre with the others, I would also like to say that I think the shadows are a bit harsh for such soft looking lighting. Great modeling! I imagine this took a lot of work, good job. Keep it up!

Hey,
You have a nice look here, a little hard to evaluate the exterior character with all the doors and hatches open though.
One thing that does seem a little stange is the large amount of space you have left of the front bulkhead of the car (gap between the cabin interior and the front luggage space. It alsmost looks like an MPV stile interior (which gererally has to house the engine and gearbox).
The engine also looks a little too far back- this car would be rear engined rather than mid - like a 911 I guess.
The C-Pillar (edge of windscreen - top surface of door) looks very wide - big blind spot - but I guss that could just be exagerated beacause of the door being open.
All in all though its wel putr together - must have been a lot of work, I am a product designer so I appreciate that you can't just fudge things togerther when your modelling someithing - as you can in a sketch.
Good work

I would like to see different angles with doors and all closed. The paint sure look good though.
Apart of that, maybe its the view but I feel that some proportions are off ( wheels and seats...)
Anyway, show us more:thumbsup:

The car is perfect. The enviroment very dull though.
Anyway... Got 4 stars from me. :)

maybe a view with all parts closed could be interresting. it's difficult to see to the global shape here.

I love the metalic car paint shader and the design. Give us some interior shots.
The only crit is that environment could use some work.

Thanks for the crits. I guess I must've been concentrating too much on the car and not enough on the environment (or the lack thereof).
Cheers to craggers for pointing out the design flaws. I must say (confess) that I'm not a designer or an engineer of any sort, and that I know next to absolutely nothing about designing a practical car.
Anyways, a composition is up the top based on your useful comments.:)
