That's a small test I made one year ago...

(Sorry, hyperlinks doesn't works, you have to copy and paste the link in your internet browser)
I know I could add red metal on the cutted chair and sparks (?!?) when the laser touch the chair but I've the original video and LW scene no more...

Since, I'm making a small starwars animation with friends, but I'd like to know how to make a non transparent motion blur for the laser (just like in movies) in LW...

Thx for your comments and helps!

Yo mate, for one, The lightsaber would cut the chair in like, a half a second :P
Two: Instead of using 3d, I would recommend rotoscoping (editing frames one by one) with Adobe Photoshop or Adobe After Effects. There are some great tutorials on how to make lightsabers there on www.fanfilms.com

Yes, I agree with you on the first point...
Two: Thanx for the tips and the very cool link, there's a lot of things i can use... But I think i will continue to use LW to render the LightSaber (and other effects) on the movie I'm making... So, if someone can help me to render the White light on the Saber with the motion Blur, Thx to help me!!
