View Full Version : should I buy ecc ram or non ecc
I want to buy two 1Gb ram chips but I'm not sure if it's good idea to spend quite more $$ to have this ecc thing. I also heard that ram with ecc is slower than without. So what do you think?

Depends on workstation use...
ECC ram is usually used on servers that run 24h/24h and provide ram error correction.
But, if u use workstation as a home pc and u turn off system every time, non ecc ram is the best choice for sure and doesn't cost u a fortune! I'm from Italy: ecc ram cost quite 200€ more than non ecc.
