amd seems to have beat the intel. but how about overclocking? comparing two similiar CPU from intel and amd, after overclocking, which is going to be better?

still intel?

AMD pants down. AMD FX55 oced 500 mhz to 3.1 ghz needs a Prescot running at 4.8 ghz to keep up which is 1000mhz.

Why? They can just do the sensible thing and license those methods, share ideas like IBM/AMD have been doing.

I guess that's why I'm not the CEO at Intel, what with my crazy ideas.

One would think they would, but htey clone x86-64 and make part of it emulation, not hardware like the real deal.

Go figure.

Big doesn't mean they are incapable of making mistakes.
