Bonsai 01-27-2005, 09:24 PM Hehe. Funny seeing all those great 300 Tri posts. KEEP IT UP !! Thought i might give you my super low poly try. Some time back i wondered what one can built out of 100 tris. Here is what i turned up with:
Exactly 100 tris, 1 128 texture

In this tempo, we wil return to sprites soon.I don't know about you, but I love sprites!
Anyways... wow! That's pretty inpressive for only a hundred poly's. Another 300 (100?) Club model of low-poly wonderfulness. Yay!

I actually liked the sprite days..
cause they forced you to put more "feeling" into a character...alot of these newer games and animations don't have any real character...they are too "real" but yet not real so they end up with a robotic, cold...and lifeless feeling. Sprites and hand-drawn art are still the most expressive.

great model! your texture is pretty bland though, I think it needs to be more crisp, higher contrast - let the graphic engine's filtering and stretching take care of the blurring!
PS - welcome to the club :D

Hehe. Thanks for the club welcome :)
@Adam: Yeah i know about the texture. It originally was a massive 256*256. I just scaled it down and blew up the contrast a bit.
Damn. swizzle stick is right. This is addictive. Just doing another 100 tri thingy ...
In this tempo, we wil return to sprites soon.
rofl, thats funny for so many reasons :)
this is great stuff..love the super low-res thing going on right now..excellent plane, but I'd wanna keep it to characters :) :D
