It's a low-polygon Zombi!!! What do you think? Model has only 353 faces. I think it's low. :D

Wow! Send it to Capcom so it can be in the next Resident Evil game for the Nintendo GAMECUBE. Looks great.

very good textures.

but you can make the eye alittle darker, now seems there has a layer covering the hole inside.

Wow , amazingly good for the polycount, even more if it's your first low poly model !
I'd rework the face texture a bit though : it does'nt seem to fit in with the body texture too well ..but that could be just me :)
great work anyway ! keep it up !

Looks very nice.
there is a few little things I would fix.

I would turn some edges, for the front of the knees and the waist, pretty much for animation purposes.

good work

Some of you guys may think this is a dumb question, but I'm curious. I'm not a huge game fan, so I don't know all the games out there, etc.

I see a lot of people here at CGtalk making all of these low poly game characters, trying to get the best quality with the lowest # of polys.

My question is:
With the games on the market for PC and console (Game Cube, PS2, Xbox, etc.) looking as good as they do (in terms of graphics), is there really a need for such low poly characters anymore?

I understand the challenge of it, and the need for it at one time, but is it really useful in today's gaming world?

Like I said, it may be a dumb question, but I'm curious.

It depends - if you want alot of things on screen at once with smooth gameplay, you need to keep the poly count low. As a general rule, it's always best to be economic with the poly count with games, even with today's consoles and PCs. Remember that it's not just the polycount that's being calculated and drawn on the fly by the hardware. You don't need to throw in detail to the geometry when good use and creation of textures can make up the shortfall.

I seriously suggest you change the outline of the character. The model is great proportionaly and would work awesome with a soldier or something.... but not as a zombie.

You can see where his ribs are ending and yet you don't adjust the model to pink in at that point. The arms are really thick when they only have bones and muscle over them. So change up the model a little to make it look more zombie and not just a basic guy.

Thanks for comments! This Zombi is for a game. I have 400 faces limit. I draw textures in Photoshop (Wacom). Here are head’s and body’s textures, which I draw different techniques. Which is better?

if it is for a game or something, wouldn't the model have to be quads? It looks like the "stomach" or mid section is a five point area. Not sure tho.. it's been a long day.

Looks great for 353 tho. I agree that the outline of the character could be stronger, maybe a little less symetrical since it's a zombie and should look a little rotted.

aw I am babbling, nice job all i all, love the face texture.

would like to know the definitive resolution of ur textures,
if u use 400poly, I imagine that u are limited also with the texture size ?

Thanks for comments!

This pose is for easy bone attachment. It will be deformed after that. (fdd box, or only bone rotating)

Textures will be collapsed to two images (3 now) in 512/512 and 256/256 resolution.

Cap of edges are hide (stomach) to make modeling easier.

Thanks for comment, again :)
