Hey guys, ive read tutorials after tutorials and have a general idea of how Normal Mapping does work, but i still havent seen any results. I created something very basic, a plank of wood with lets say cords around them. Made the high poly (like 10,000 tris) then a low poly one (then uv mapped it) which was like 400 tris. now when i used ATI's exporter (via dos thank you very much) i got a normal map and it looks nothing like how ive seen some others. It had a very small spot of green, then red in another area? I cannot use melody because i have a Ti4200 vid card, doesnt support per pixel. Can someone tell me what im doing wrong, or a way of viewing/making normal maps in Maya itself?
