View Full Version : joint orient tutes
zilla 01-26-2005, 10:14 PM Hi I use Maya. Does anyone know some good tutes (or books/cds) on setting joint orientation (how/why) on complex rigs? I often find my rigs work great until I try a certain move and then the whole thing goes down in flames (a joint will pop when it gets to a certain angle etc).
cheers

I once was wondering the same thing, but I haven't found many tutorials that go into this very deeply. It's more something I had to learn through trial and error on my own. But yeah, I too would love to look into any people might find.

hi guys,
I'm just started with rigging, and I found this: http://www.keegan3d.com/mel.html
there is a MEL script in that page wich I think it's really helpful on this issue. I do not understand exactly how a joint orientation should work, but as soon as I discover it I will be glad to share the info with anyone :)
cheers

If I find an answer to my question I'll post it!!
cheers mate!
