What is Kids Week?
Kids week is an effort to get more kids interested in drawing.
This week we will post topics suitable and aimed to kids between 5 -13 years. The idea is that if you blokes know a kid who likes art, to encourage them to draw,
and post this week.
Also get them to give us their ideas for topics...
To keep things safe;
Kids should only post with the current account of an adult who has been posting with us for a while (parent or relative).
Otherwise it is business as usual...
I am sure we have great childrens book illustrators in our ranks.
Have fun. Post as usual, but remember your target audience.

I'm waiting for a Matte War I can join in on. I really think that's where I can do more. But, in the mean time, here's one I did for my husband. It's not a tribute. Christopher Reeve was his hero.
PS CS, Wacom Graphire, About 20 minutes. still trying to get the drawing thing down. It's easier with a pencil and paper.

edit: oops, forgot to mention. This was done in the highly desireable Painter IX software (which I'm just barely starting to learn) in about 30 to 40 minutes.

Hi and hello everybody! I think this is my first post ever on CGtalk, though I've been hanging out here for more than a year.
I've been watching all the daily sketches and always wanted my own tablet so I could join the fun. Well, at last i did by a tablet, and here I am.
My first contribution to the daily sketch is the kids greatest heeeerooooo:
TROGDOR: The burninator!!!
http://lingon.port5.com/sketch/Trogdor.jpg
I did not draw the outlines for myself, because I wanted the one and only trogdor (and I'm noot good enough to do it as superb as strongbad).
For all of you who are unfamiliar with trogdor and his friends, make a visit at http://www.homestarrunner.com (http://www.homestarrunner.com/)
and for the trogdor-clip: http://www.homestarrunner.com/sbemail58.html
Cya all tomorrow,
greets Anton

Hey bealobo,
Nice sketch. I like the bottom one better, because there's more contrast. It makes the figure pop better than the one on the top.

My hero *sigh* (my boyfriend, yeah cheesy I know, I was going to do Spidey or Trogdor but they were already taken...) wearing his "hero trousers" (aikido hakama) - besides, he could beat Trogdor any day, heh...
Photoshop, about 1.5 hours

Illumnio, watch your mouth!
It is not wize to boast too much about your boyfriend, especially not when insulting almighty Trogdor the BURNINATOR :twisted:
I'd say Trogdor would win over your boyfriend in the "avatar fight-club" in the sketch forum :D
But, with my drawing skills I'm not the one choosing their faith. I wish you and your boyfriend good luck, may the force be with you! :)
Cheers,
Anton

Hmmff.... Let me explain... I made the line drawing with a pencil at the day the thread came out. It was great in my opinion, but i wanted to color it... So i ran out of time completely, and, only today i could work on it... The result in my opinion: Not good...
First of all;
With the outlines: good
With the outline and colors: Good foreground and really bad background...
Without the outlines: More or less foreground and more or less background...
And i had a really big problem to work on the mood... By the way, it was supposed to be a dark room and there should be lightining coming out only from the teddy bear, making the monster go away....
Photoshop, 3h
