Hey there,

I've been trying to set up a fake GI rig to use with the Blender internal renderer.

Following this tutorial (http://www.elysiun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18247&highlight=lighting+setup+tutorial), I added a lamp to my scene, then added an icosphere, then tried to use dupliverts.

I selected the lamp in object mode.

Then I held shift and selected the icosphere.

Then I hit CTRL-P to make a parent.

Then I selected only the sphere, went to edit mode, selected all, and inverted the normals.

Then I went to the object panel (f7) and turned on duplivert and rot.

What happened, you ask?

Why nothing. Nothing at all. No duplication. Nada. Zip.

I checked the hotkeys by looking at the Blender 2.3 manual, and my steps tracked what they said to do in the section on dupliverts.

What am I screwing up here? Or is this some new bug wherein the duplivert tool is currently broken?

Well, unsurprisingly it turns out to be option "b," i.e. I was being stupid.

After I did the parenting, I selected only the sphere, then hit dupliverts and rot. No duplication. Anyway, I corrected this error at home (using 2.34), and got it to work.

Doh!
