crack! crack!
It sorta looks like a head...
So I got side tracked...but this image needs grass.
I'm going to animate it. I'll let it render over night just for the hell of it.

You are really off to a good start!
If I may make a couple of suggestions that may assist you...
It looks like you are trying to create alot of detail in the the lips,
Start off with low detail...

then add alittle more detail...

...then you can meshsmooth it in the end...

bottom line..."less is more", and less is always easier to work with.
also, try working with only half the head and then mirror it when you finished.
work it, work it, work it!!!
you are on your way to something marvelous!

Hey DiB, good start! Cactus Jack has some good tips there and I have another:) Have a skim through some of the CG sites like highend3d and 3dtotal for some tutorials on head building that are relavent to the package you're on. I have been hacking away at this stuff for three years now as a student and professional and I still read tutorials. Believe me, re-inventing the wheel is a time consuming process. Suck the wisdom from the minds of those who have struggled before you:)
I look forward to seeing your progress, good luck and:buttrock: rock on!
