What is Kids Week?
Kids week is an effort to get more kids interested in drawing.

This week we will post topics suitable and aimed to kids between 5 -13 years. The idea is that if you blokes know a kid who likes art, to encourage them to draw,
and post this week.

Also get them to give us their ideas for topics...

To keep things safe;

Kids should only post with the current account of an adult who has been posting with us for a while (parent or relative).

Otherwise it is business as usual...

I am sure we have great childrens book illustrators in our ranks.
Have fun. Post as usual, but remember your target audience.

-R

________________________________________________________

We will try to post one of these topics once a day for your enjoyment.

These are the rules:
* Post only your FINAL piece on this thread, based on the topic on the thread.
* RESOLUTION : The image can have any aspect ratio up to 800 x 600
* They can be done on any medium.
* If you wish, you can add a brief text description about your piece.
* Only original compositions. No "tributes" or plagiarizing, unless is it an integral part of the challenge.
* The topics will be posted every day between 10:00 - 12:00 am US EST.
* The artist also has to post total length of time it took (Thanks Clanger for the idea) and program used.
* Only final pieces can be posted on the thread. They must have been done AFTER the topic has been announced.
* Any piece caught breaking the rules will be taken off the thread.
* The topics will be picked at random from the list on this thread
(The author will be given credit). So guys keep them coming.
*You can add multiple entries, but please dont post WIP (Unless you intend to update them). NEW RULE!
* Ill post ANOTHER thread to quantify and track WHO has participated the most on these threads.

Good luck

-Roberto

Internet Explorer was used for to find a NASA image for the earth...
Source Image for the earth:
http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://visibleearth.nasa.gov/data/ev116/ev11605_globe_east_540.jpg&imgrefurl=http://visibleearth.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/viewrecord%3F11605&h=540&w=540&sz=61&tbnid=hym4XQNxfbQJ:&tbnh=130&tbnw=130&start=10&prev=/images%3Fq%3DNASA%2BEARTH%2BPIC%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26sa%3DN

The cows were the generic cow objects from Lightwave... the render of the cow was in lightwave... Should have probably rendered more than one cow so they'd have the same light source... but I didn't... they were just rotated and resized in Photoshop

Photoshop was used for the rest of it... Total time start to finish was 1 hour

I like them all!!!

congratulations for the little artists out there (in the moon, of course).

I´ll see if I have the time to post anything.
I would like to ask the administrator, it is suppoused that is better to post the drawing before the vote thread comes out, isn´t it? so that means by the end of the week isn´t it?
It´s because of the time change (Spain) and work hours that I´m not be able to post everyday but definitely like the daily sketch forum.

:D

... I'd watch the earthrise and earthset every day!

Bit late, never seem to get enough time but I'm determined to try to do something for each topic this week. Can't resist these topics - always did want to be an astronaut...
Great to see all the budding artists having a go too!
