Hey y'all, this is gonna be my first entry in this challenge. I just read this last nite an came up with this - sketch of a vehicle - actual "character" coming up soon, and a rough model form. I have to admit I am inspired from a certain comic and I really liked its unusual design. I guess it won't be difficult to tell what sport I am leaning towards.

update: 10/8/02 added a GI joe of the final bike w/ol sketch - (nada rider n stuff yet...)

[Sunday Oct.20.2002]

UghhHGhGHhghGH...well this was a bad week....MID-TERMS and top of that a Film-Festival which our group submitted a short film pretty much ate up my remainder free time to do anything....I still plan to finish this in the remaining year..hope to make it good now that i can take my time.

ciao!

okay, you found my reference darn...but yeah gunm, alita - angel of chaos compilation book to be exact. I plan to mod the vehicle with more details but keeping its style intact.

I guess can't tell exactly yet how its gonna be used till more info/images is up....

well it ceratinly isn't fly fishing. Some sort of racing event, I should think. But is there a twist?

nice start on the model, btw.

This is a screenshot of the wheel at smooth, I plan on it to be big, wide and have knobby tires (since it rides on only one wheel... ::D ) plus big threads on this so it shows it can handle any sort of terrain. Still thinking how to go about connecting it to the next part since the original looked at little to stylish and thin to be for rugged use.

Here is an extra shot of it at low poly with wire-frame.

I must note I have been slacking this summer and am using this challenge to make myself come to the lab to run maya. So please anyone who wants to offer advice on my poly-modelling please do (reason for including the wireframe) anyway I find myself doing things the hard way trying to emulate an-actual working part that probably won't be seen (but thats good isnt it?) okay enuff talk...must sleep...

I found myself staring at the screen too long... , figure I post this drafting phase still...(ugh... debating whether the character should be male or female) :hmm:
.....neway here is where I left off just now...just re-workin my rough-model, little more defined on areas...engine, exhaust, shocks...etc...

:buttrock:

note: working on a good smooth-poly version (working part by part) I noticed takes up more time so I decided to concentrate on tweaking the rough instead of building part by part... ohwellz I hope to finish this at the deadline with texturing :hmm:

To:

Catus Jack - :hmm: I originally was thinking of a female character with blantantly sized bo0bies ..mebe...hehe

Benno - Can't reveal that part yet, but I do have something along the lines of a kind of race, I am taking this a little serious in other words not to comical, but who knows, might change later..its only the first week so far...and more props to create...ugh ugh

I am hoping by end of the weekend to have decided on the look of the character... wait-n-see

Like the sound of that!

"a female character with blantantly sized bo0bies"
Cn't get any more extreme than that, eh?

Would that tie into the extreme sport somehow?
Hehe...it'd be cool if it did...:applause:

hey erik, well I happen to be studying the yamaha V-MAX (reference) coincidently, it is a V-Twin on steroids, but yeah possibllity is there once I figure how to incoporate it..oh well, can't have armor all over it, otherwise it would look like a insect-mech from the roughs. :wip:

still in wip...

Thats looking might sexy. I love the shape and design of the wheel area.
Overall it kinda makes me think of some kinda bug, which in my opinion is damn cool....more vehicles should be designed from nature!!!

thumbs up!
