Okay anyway I would love comments. It still has lots to go including armor more facial junk weapon ect..
The top of the head on the left is really screwed up. I do plan on fixing that area

Me too!!, That's one thing that could be improved, and is getting pushed in the right direction with the pics etc. It would be nice to have a menue of sorts somplace on the page directly because it seems not too many people are switching over the pics (see http://www.cgtalk.com/online.php? for all those online)

Defintley add some attachment from the face to the mask or straps. And some think on the mask w/ ruber or somthing or seal it would be cool. Her eyes are a bit flat, look at some ref. for this. Also to add some style change the outline of her eyes too. Keep truckin there!

Great start. The top of the head looks like it could use some work. Also, the eyes don't quite look like they fit in the sockets. Hope that helps. Good Luck
Worked on the outfit for a couple hours today. I'm happy with it (although it is simple comapred to all the other great post) I haven't done anything yet with the pants just the shirt and torso region.
Please tell me what you think.

I think the mask is great really like the design wuld have worked well on my character too damn !;) id just take my time chexck out a few areas that could use some tweaking, mostly the torso area shoulders breast etc not trying to be harsh just giveing you some construcitve crit to push yourself !!1

I don't like the eyes area.
I think the belly is a little square.
The ears are good!

I was just wondering if you thought the eyes looked funny in the second post or if they just look silly in the first one? (I think a lot of it is the lighting in the first shot) Also what do you all think of the outfit?
Well I skinned the face (well the diffuse no bump or gloss yet) I did it from scratch. What do you all thin

As for you Adam i'm not one of the best modelers in here for sure, but i can tell you that you need a lot of work on the human form wich anyway is a dificult thing to model right.Anatomy books and some drawing classes would help you improve your modeling skills and of curse a lot of practice! And i repeat that i'm not a great modeler but it's my belief that that the best ones would give you the same advice! As for your curent character get some reference and use it as a guide to improve her, to avoid harsh coments;)

Don't get discouraged. I think you have a cool idea and just need to keep going with it. Take the CONSTRUCTIVE critisms and learn from them. I am a newbie in 3d, and am having a real hard time modelling a human. I think you are pretty close .... and that is what you need to decide - do you want "close" or "perfection".
As far as critique - - try rounding the stomach area. The arms need a little more muscle definition. Hey - or go real extreme either way and make it a style! It's YOUR creation. YOU decide what it will ultimately look like.
well you asked for comments on your model, so here they are, first off, the eyes are fine, just do this so they fit the face, grab the cvs around the eye if your doing it in polys or if in nurbs grab the isoparms aound the eye and go in a side angle and pull them back closer to the ear, and rotate towards the ear just a tad, and the eye ball, well, its buldging out, push that in the eye lid as well, there are many good eye tutorials out on the web right now, your best bet is to got to Highend3d.com (http://highend3d.com) and search for the iris tutorial, it fast and looks good. Next make that neck of hers skinnier for its to big for her body, or let your armor thing cover it up to the bottom of her chin, up to you. Now were at the shoulders, first off she needs shoulders bro, so give her some, lift those bad boys up so she has some and remember that the human body is not straight for it has a curve to it, which is the spine etc. when working try working in both the side and the front angle for proportions, you have everything going good with the model, it can be even better if you spent a little more time on it, best thing to do is sketch out a reference for the positioning of the body or get a book that shows correct anatomy, btw, I do like the concept and see the approach your getting at. Remember this is all learning in here, even for me, so if it doesnt come out right the first time, dont worry try again, its like drawing, you dont always create masterpieces for they take time, patience, and a great idea! hope what I said helped.....

Do not get discuraged i would also say.If you still have a low poly version of your model you can start making improvements on reference.You really have enought time.Yesterday i was thinking of starting my model again from scratch.Beleave me i've heard much worse things than Spacemoped's comment!:D

Adam, what you need is to sketch, plan, and use reference material as a basis for your design. the more you work on your skills the better you will become. i think everyone that is in this challenge will come out in the end a better modeller/artist, just by gaining the experience and getting some insight from other users.
i could tell you what i feel could be improved, but it would be quicker to say "everything," and thats not just to you, everyone's work could be improved everywhere.
so, what i suggest you do is open your mind to critism and download these reference images. http://the3d.ws/artists/yondabuda/front.jpg
project these on to your background or a polygon and use them.
learn proportions and the subtleties of anatomy and try to understand them. if you want to build a gun, look at gun pictures, go to the store and pick up a toy gun and check it out, draw it, same with a gas mask, look online for designs, and see what you think is cool or not cool, and incorporate your ideas into the design, goes for anything, after you're more aware of your mistakes you can build on it. and in enought time you wont need the reference. but right now, i think its oviouse to many of the artist here that you do. so use it and dont give up :)
and you know what? i failed miserably at building the first 5 head models, and ive gone from poly, to nurbs, to patch, even tried da'vinci, to spline, and now sub-d (what have you tried?). but to date ive built around 20 from scratch and im still learning and improving on every new model. so dont expect to be great at your first, second, third, or even 5th attempt like me. just keep it up :)
I like mask, it could be attached usin something else than nails, but i like it.
You have good advises mind if i borrow them?
Hey it has been a while since I last updated. I have had midterms this and last week so I have been busy. I manged to get some time to texture the face. I wanted to concentrate on it because I doubt I will be able to finish the whole charcter in time for this challenge so I figured I better get atleast part done.
Please tell me what looks off. Or just tell me it is great ( This is my third head model and by far the best.) Go easy please. Im a newbie

Well I have redone all the porportions of the body. Not much detail yet but please tell me if all the perportions look right so far.
of course the head will be attached and I plan on modeling the hands and feet tomorrow if I get time

The rib detail is modeled in but this image dosen't really show them oh well maybe I'll update tomorrow:rolleyes:

well her is a new body shot partially skinned. I hope someone replys. I will be adding clothes and boots this weekend if i get time. I doubt I will finish all of it in time for the challenge, but it has been a great learning experience
I think the head is to far back a little, agree?
I think the skin is a little red don't know though
only head and upper torso has been skinned
For some reason I doubt I'm going to make it. Oh well it has been great. Although I have had few comments.
I like the random pixel color changes
