Ho to all...
I've been around for a while but this is my first post.
This is my room, I mean this is exactly my room. I modelled every object in my room as well as the room itself. I've been working on this for about a couple of weeks and I finally finished it. Only thing I modelled before is the guitar, everything else is modelled recently on this work. Facts about the work are written on the pic. Hope you like it and I'm thirsty for comments...

Well modeled, well textured. Although some of the models feel stiff and a little too clean for my taste, they are descriptive and accurate.

I have a problem with the piece, though... The lighting towards the top of the room, specifically the lighting of and shadows from the two lamps and the computer monitor. There is something too crisp and even toned about the shadows, it makes them very fake looking. The more subtle shadows near the floor and between smaller elements are quite nice (I'm sure due to Brazils beauty work!), but somehow that realistic diffusion of shadow was lost towards the top of the composition.

Good luck!

the models are fine, but you should
pay more attention on textures. things
look more realistic if they are not too
uniform. good start.:)

It is, as some people already said, well modelled. The textures put me off a bit though, there doesn't seem to be a single tiny little bit of specularity in this room.. The textures look like they've been collected from the nearest texture library and not edited in the slightest. The bedlinen looks wrong. I think the pattern is er.. not very nice, and they look too hard, not very real. The texture is stretched at the pillow as well..

I know that might sound a bit harsh, but with the right texture and lighting this picture will look very nice.

well, it is not bad. but did you use GI on render? if so, that can explain why non of these objects has specular hightlights.

Nice modeles but hummm... you have to put more time on textures.

I think you should either model some wrinkles / ruffles into the bed or use a displacement map on it. I'm not sure if your room has a window in it out of shout but i'd use that as your major lightsource. You could quite easily project a window shaped map into the scene from that side and maybe add some slight volumetric light to it..... You could make a nice image with warm light streaming in through the window with cool light as your ambient colour in the room.

Other than that add some dirt / clutter and wear and tear around the place. Have torn pieces of paper on the pin up board. Dirt around the light switch, door and door handle. Does anythign sit on top of your cupboard? If so put stuff there.... if not well put stuff there anyways....

Keep up the good work.

About the mouse: I've got a MS Wireless Explorer and modelling it is way ahead of my modelling abilities. I admit it, I'm an amateur :)

And about the cables: I realy don't know how to do them. I made the cable of the phone in a whole day, it is only a couple of feet long and in fact it is a spiral which has been bend modified :)

Thanks again for the comments...

p.s. I didn't think about making the dirt, but thanks for putting it in my mind, maybe (if I find time), I'll make the room dirtier :)

edit: theres some texture stretching at the foot of the bed too
