If you go down to the woods to day you might find a big surprise, well if you also have Motion Builder it will be even better and if have Modo and the Shake application as well then this is an essencial issue.

What we have for Cinema 4D R8.. XL, users with the Mocca module is 3 videos showing you how to rig up your bones and weights using the painting function. The next VTM deals with the animation setup of the character in cinema 4D and the next video deals with Rendering, light setup ect for animation. The Advanced Render options are shown in the last video using Cinema 4D.

It's a great way to get an idea of how to find out how to do things. He is fairly quick at going through the process so you might want to recap a few times.
It's out now in the UK and has been for the past 2 weeks. :)

Cool, does it go into advanced rig setups, with expressions and such?

I keep going to the local Borders looking for it. All they have is the "Incredibles" issue. ARGH!

sounds cool,
I ownder who is doing teh tutes? oh well i wil just have t look at it when i see it at he local borders as well ;)

That issue with the incredibles is prety cool too. Is funny that they used Maya and #dsmax as well as render man in that film. That issue is great becasu ethey talk about the rigging tools they came u with for th emom and als how the achieved a time delayed Tex Avery effect so that when the characters move they kind of deform along the path they are moving along. also they talk about statistical modelling and how they used it for cloth deformations libraries..

have i strayed off topic far enough? :)

anyways the tute i hope will be cool it sounds great.

It's a good set of tutorials and is from the Pixel Corps (Alex Lindsay covers these ones). I believe you can also download them from their site pixelcorps.com, but it's a bit of a fiddle to find them. There was a thread a few days ago talking about them if you do a search.

Good luck.

Hey All,

DanB - Nope!! No advanced stuff, just boning and weighting - very basic! Mocca is only used because it has the Bone Tool and Claude Bonet. It is useful for the bone naming conventions so MB and C4D play nice together!

In fact it was this VTM that made me buy Motion Builder and regret buying MOCCA II.

Thanx for the info!

Dsavage: I didn't find it on the pixelcorps site. There are some other tutorials there. Is it at some other location?

All the best, FRitz

Fritzman - http://www.pixelcorps.com/training/content.php - 5th tutorial in - Alex Lindsay discusses a VFX pipeline. I haven't downloaded it as I have the CD so I'm not sure if it has all the stages - from modelling, boning and weighting in C4D, exporting to MB to add the animation, back to C4D for layout and finally to Shake for compositing - but it should give you an idea.

Thanks:thumbsup: Too bad you regret buying MOCCAII. It seems Clothilde alone would be enough to make up for any short comings of MOCCA. I wish Maxon would just offer Clothilde as a sort of sub bundle or a plugin. I don't need all of MOCCAII, now that i have CDIKTools, although soft ik is another reason to get the module.
