I've taken down the 3 remaining pieces from my site that didn't belong to me.

I've answered the question a thousand times, I know it's sh**ty of me to have other
people's work on my page, It was a site-filler at first and I didn't bother
to take them down, very lazy and wrong of me.

In the case of this computer, I have a very similar render -
(Which I haven't added to the site)

But I can post a detailed shot of this to show my work,
I didn't even realize it wasn't mine until today..
It shows how much attention I pay to these things.

Anyway, if anybody is concerned about the origin of any of the other images.
Feel free to contact me and I'll provide you with a scene shot and wireframe to confirm.

This kind of conversation isn't the purpose of CG-Talk, so if you'll excuse my stupidity,
I'd like to just take part and carry on as usual with strictly Cinema 4D talk.

If you want to check again I've made some updates
http://www.project1media.com/

When taking the site down I used this image as an apology to those coming to see the crime.

Hi Stuart,

cool that you made a straight statement about it.
Before this cooked up here I never saw your site so it had a cool side effect. Man, you've got some really cool stuff there. You're a great artist with lotsa talent. I like your style with the robots and all the reflective stuff, very classy (I'm german, hope that's the right word). Keep up the good work.

All the best, FRitz

site filler? on a portfolio?
:argh:
"very lazy and wrong of me" try stupid and potentially career damaging, the people who frequent this site aren't just kids with a hobby

I'll shutup now before this thread is closed

I find it rather naive to dwell on something like this, because all sorts of stuff happens even in professional production work and your career doesn't float or sink with something like sticking a few pics in a Flash site under construction and forgetting to take them back down, etc. Just a mishap. Better if it doesn't happen, but its a glitch, nothing more.

Theoretically, everything happens smoothly in a production environment, everyone knows what they are doing, clients are as educated about whats involved in the work as you are, etc. In practice, you sometimes get hired to do X and end up doing Y, Z and just about anything else other than X. Clients change their mind/budget so many times that a three week project just drags on and on and doesn't finish. You could really use tool X for a project you just got, but the people in charge of approving this stuff don't think buying tool X is necessary, et cetera, et cetera.

Most realworld CG stuff isn't portfolio driven to begin with. You don't get hired based on a few pretty pics on a little portfolio site. Someone approaches you with a project you've never done before and whether you get it depends on how far you can crank your actual production skills. Portfolio sites are just window dressing imo, unless you're a print or web designer. Actual production work you'll get or loose based on how you perform in production. Its more about on the spot problem solving there than being able to lean back on an album with pretty pics you've made in the past.

if you're going to start saying things like that, at least try and back it up with some links.

What planet are you from?

Yeah, sorry Ace, but your explanation doesn't cut it, just as your explanation didn't cut it the last time. You had a drive crash so you were just stealing some artwork until you could fill it out with your own? Okay. It's sort of like telling the police, "yeah, I did borrow this car that doesn't belong to me, but mine broke down and I was just using it until I could get mine fixed."

Simon.reeves kindly posted a picture of my work 2 posts above. This is a piece of work i made around 2 years ago and can be seen on 3 website...here are the links

http://cyblingdesign.com/v3/
http://cyblingdesign.com/index1.html
http://cyblingdesign.com/portfolio/index.htm

And here is a wireframe: http://cyblingdesign.com/images/wire.jpg

A full uncropped version of this image can be seen in the second address i posted up above. Im quite upset about what's happened and urge the moderators to ban 'InTheCity' IP address and membership. I will not stand for this, and hope that this thread is left open so that other people can maybe see if their work has also been taken...then maybe action can be taken.

if you want the links you can pm me. one of the moderators told me that he does not want to start a witch hunt. i can understand this. but i also think that people need to be on their guard with this guy.

Stuart, your posting is pathetic at best. Claiming to remove the artwork you stole and remove only those images which have been found out so far is imo a good hint on what you will do the next time.
