Hi everyone.
I have a model rigged to a CS biped. I can spend up to 15 minutes posing it and then I do any random action (rotating the perspective, moving a bone, saving) and suddenly the whole biped snaps to the pose it was in when i opened to file.
Another similar problem I get with this figure is that lift one of the legs, and then when I start rotating it, it snaps back to it original position, and rotates there instead of in the new position I gave it a second ago.
This is driving me mad, can someone please give me a hand with solving this?

thanks!

Hi Opeth,

This problem is arguably the most common problem anyone has had when starting with CS ;)
I could bet it has to do with your use (or lack of) of the "Figure Mode" button. If I'm right on this, the 1st thing I'd tell you to do is to read about it in the Help file. You'll understand it better once you do.
Good luck,

Btw, very nice model :)

So your rigging this now, yay, can't wait to see. I remember when I first started using cs that was happening to me too. I'm not 100% sure but when I moved to a certain frame and moved the bones around, I immediatly set a key for the pose even though its not the final pose (e.g. move the legg up and set keyframe, then rotate and override previous keyframe, etc.). If that is what you are doing then I dont know.

dr pepper can is right. You have different "modes" when using cs and the basic one is the figure mode (=set up the whole rig of the model there). If you leave the figure mode you can set up any position at any frame but once you use keyframes you will need to do so every time you move a bip or rotate it. If not cs will ignore it simply in the animation and jump back to the initial pose of that keyframe.

just check "figure mode" in the help file..it explains everything a lot better then anyone could do here in a reasonable time ;)
