Quick doodle I made this morning when I saw the challenge.
Haven't been over to 3Dluvr's comp, and haven't looked at many posts over here, so I hope nobody else was going for the same idea.
Didn't really intend to enter either, but the guys at work really pressed me...so without any further delay...I present the first sketch...hope it's extreme and twisted enough...almost done modeling the head...will post it tomorrow, I suppose.

Hey, thanks guys.
So here's the head...the brow and ear needs some work. I'll try to finish it and start on the body today...we've got some big jobs and tight schedules and close deadlines,:annoyed: so I'll have to see whether I get time to finish this thing.
Good luck for everyone else!

I got some time yesterday to check out some of the other guys' works...Very nice!

I modeled some more last night before heading home, this is just roughly done so far, I'll add more details when I get time.

Head: 11 minutes
The rest : 14 minutes

Hehehehe looking cool so far
The facial expression....hmmm.... is it sheer excitement, or some kind of extreme pain?.... :surprised
I hate to guess.....
Pray tell - what are the little wheels on the end of his ski's for?

Well, this certainly seems twisted enough! Good start :D

Oh great. Just realized I kinda gave the game away with my sketch...what an eedjit:rolleyes: . Guess I'll have to come up with an extra twist or two.

Hey Leigh!
Sheer excitement, extreme pain...guess a bit of both...perhaps determination?

The wheels...well...err..frankly, I don't know. I was thinking about those scooter wheels and mudgaurds while drawing. Err...they're there to help the guy get over the rocks and boulders at the bottom of the mountain! Yes, that's it!

drunkenmaster: thanks, but at the moment the head is ever so simple...no big deal...I plan to work on it later tonight.

Besides, I can only concentrate for 20 minutes at a go, so I have to fit in as much as possible, that's why I've learned to work fast.

Here's the head, as you can see it's very simple.

Excellent start! Looks like it's begging to be animated.

simple it may be, but impressive it definitely is.

I love the cartoonyness of this design!! I also admire the fact that you have set yourself a fairly simple modelling task, something I never do and subsequently i hardly ever FINISH anything:surprised
I certainly hope I have correctly predicted the workload and you do get to finish this. Really cool:applause:

Hey everyone! Thanks for commenting. Just a quick word before I head home to catch some much needed sleep.

Wigaru: Yeah, I want to animate this guy, animation is really my strongpoint, but I won't be rigging him till after the challenge.

Benno: Yep, I love cartoony styles. Actually, I didn't intend him to be so simple, that's just the style I drew him in. I'm squeezing in some modeling at every opportunity, but it's hard, what with a deadline before the weekend (some stuff for a design festival in Hong Kong).

So I'm off. Bye!
