View Full Version : Eye Rigs

I'm in the process of making a character who's eyes are very similar to those in Pixar's Cars. But instead of a rectangular "uni-eye", mine is round.

Does anybody have any ideas on how the eyelids could have been rigged? I've tried Morph Targets (Blend Shapes, whatever's your poison) but all I could do was open and close the eyelids and I see that Cars' characters eyelids can change width as well, something I'd like to do.

Do you think they would have done this with Helpers/Locators, Morph Targets/Blend Shapes or some sort of proprietary... thing?

Thanks.

The windshield of the car is like one big eye with two floating irises/pupils. There are two eyelids across the whole windshield but they can change width, depending on where the pupils are.

It'' be best if you get the trailer at http://www.apple.com/trailers/disney/cars/large.html and see what I mean.
