Title: Living Room
Name: Anton Arkhipov
Country: United States
Software: 3ds max, VRay

This is the latest set of renderings - an interior living room scene from two different points of view. There are some inconsistencies between the two images, but I did them on purpose because I like the way it looks the way it does better than what it would have looked like if I didnt change it. If that makes sense... Let me know what do you guys think about these two renderings, please!

My critic is about the 2nd image: the BG (the city) seens to be tottaly out of space.
The rest is really fine, really good taste on texturing and creating.

Good Luck!

Just for fun or your work?

Hi. The interior is amazing, but the FOV don't match.

yeah, the environment picture is a a different camera angle than your render. Also, in the first one you can see the reflections in the wood backed chairs....no matter how glossy these chairs were, one would not see the reflections like that. Also do a little bit of blurred reflection on the floor. The reflections are the same sharpness no matter how far away from the floor the object being reflected is. just as said before, no matter how glossy the wood was finsihed, this would not be the case...the further away from the floor the object, the blurrier the reflection would be......even if just subtlely. everything else looks good right now though.

Excellent! Really gives me something to strive for.

another little niggle is the wrinkles on the easy chair. They look a bit like someone punched a hunk of clay. Maybe smooth them out a bit.

Beautiful texturing and lighting overall, though.

Thanks for kind words, everyone!

ronaldomiranda, AHMED-3D and polymess: I'm not too happy about the background either, but that's the only photo I had to choose from. I was able to modify it to match the first rendering fairly close, but the second - I wasnt as successfull.

SuperHal: Thanks! :)

itsallgoode9: hm.. I see what you mean bout the floor, but the backs of the stools? If they're polished enough, they'd be very mirror like, no? Like a grand piano, for example.

vrf: yeah, that was my sorry attempt at making them look better :) They're all displacement maps, and they worked better on the backs of the armchairs, but not the seat cushion.

Hoopti: Thanks very much! I'll post more stuff soon, hopefully :) If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

hyst: Thanks, I like the lighting too and a lot of time was spent lighting the scene. Gotta love Vray

Again, thanks to everyone!

Most of what I saw was already point out... Although no one mention what city was :bounce: ........ Philadelphia :applause:

This is a beautiful render, the main problem I'm seeing is in the compositing, you have multiple vanishing points, look at the cieling/floor lines and where they vanish in comparison to your horizon line, makes your building lean a bit. Looks great though.

I think the second one's the best, but they both look really great. Good stuff.

Well done. Thats alot of texture work! I see what your saying about the differences, but no big deal. The city outside has been mentioned. as well as the reflective wood. I agree with itsallgoode9 on that. The apartment is well decorated. Nice attention to detail.

Also... The persons look a little off, I don't know... I think it has to do with their constrat= too light (I would say they look freaky like ghosts! in the second pic)

It's no to hard to understand the scale of the room, so I would say you don't even need any persons on it.

BTW It's an awesome rendering!
