Title: House With A Hole In It
Name: Trond Greve Andersen
Country: Norway
Software: LightWave 3D

My assignment was to show the interior of a building, but the market is flooded with those pictures, so I wanted to give it a twist. I have been looking at this image for a while now, so im getting sort of blind to the the flaws in it.

Comments?

i really like it. but i think the you could have done better with a clear defined 'cut-away' instead of the fade towards the curtains. but thats me.

excellent details!!

Yeah, I got the same comment on another Norwegian CG forum...And I agree that it looks kind of weird. I tried doing the "cleen cut-thing" and ended up with an image where it looked as if the hole was real and it gave the illustration a kind of freaky feel. I made the blurry gradient thing to give it a more "hand painted illustration feeling".....

The interior of this piece seems almost perfect and I congratulate you for that

http://www.cgtalk.com/images/icons/icon4.gif However, the outside does need some work. For starters, the brown wall next to the brick looks stretched out or is rotated wrong. Composition of background image is 'ok' but seems slightly off. The bricks on the outside look flat.

Overall, this is a well composed and clever piece of work that clearly achieves its objective. The Lighting works very well, bringing life to the image and selling the piece. http://www.cgtalk.com/images/icons/icon13.gif

I totally agree, especially about the brown wall. Its strange how nobody has commented on that yet :) God knows what kind of material that represents.

The background consists of three different pictures and Im quite happy about how that turned out, and really dont see what you mean...Is it wrongly placed or what? Would love to hear some more on that!

Bricks are flat, cuz the client changed mind about that surface, so I just pshopped it on place. ehemmmmm.

Sorry about my "english" :)

The client didnt pay enough for me to model the guy, but usually clipart does the job.
