View Full Version : maya blend shape and skeleton

wired problem....did a head in maya..rigged it for jaw and eyes..made some blendshapes for different expressions, but it seems like the skeleton/rig only works for the base model, not for the blendshapes, eg. if i open the mouth by using the rig in original model, it workes fine, but if I blend it to some other facial expression, rig no longer works for it.
any clue how to keep the blenshapes and rig together?

The reason is probable the order of the inputs... The blendshape node should be before the skinCluster.

When you add the blendshapes; under Advanced in the Blend Shape Options, choose "Front Of Chain"... (you can also change the order after you have added the blendshapes)
