i've been using various techniques to model a tree in 3DS max and i am having problems with the branches. I modeled out the trunk and I'm using planes for the branches. The texture of the plane consists of both the branch and the leaves. The plane has 2 faces and is in the shape of a triangle. I find that from a front view the tree looks okay. you can tell the texture repeats though. the problem is that the tree still looks sparse and from the top view theres nothing showing. Can anyone help me find a better way to model a tree without using a maxscript?
