This image is done for a personal screenplay project I’m working on. A science lab is located inside an alien cave and a research sub is leaving the lab. All of the elements in this image were hand drawn first then put together using Photoshop. I can still draw much faster using markers and brushes then using tablet. But Photoshop definitely cut the finishing time down in half. 10,000 X 2500 is the image size I normally work with.

wow i'm impressed!
looks really cool..i like these alien surface at the bottom!
the sub reminds me a little bit of seaquest....but who cares.
i like the lightning and the atmosphere!
cool stuff ... hope to see more of this and shots from your project!

Wow, I love it, really imrpessive.
yeah, really like it. Good ambiance.
some closeups of details such as the sub or the lab would be cool.

verry impressive, only the image is so small you can hardly see the details, the sub is cool but looks out of porportion, details are really nice, is this gonna be animated or what ?

At this point in the story, this is the first time the viewers/readers are introduced to the moon and the cave where the science lab is located in, so the focus was intentionally put on the environment and not on the sub. The only story point need to come across for this shot is that a sub is departing.

I tried to paint an environment similar to the photographs taken inside a pristine cave by divers. The water is so clear you can’t tell it is underwater until you notice the people floating in the middle of the picture are all wearing diving suits. In this case, the water surface.
