I have sucessfully converted my web server over from XP Pro's server to Apache. There should be no more problems.

This animation finally finished rendering after nearly 2 months on a 1GHz computer. 3197 frames. I know that trees and other foliage would really improve the realism, but it is designed to run behind some credits, so I really don't want to spend any more time on it.

Here is a sample image:

http://rendermonitor.no-ip.com/CG/sunset.jpg

And here are the animation options, all encoded with the Microsoft MPEG4 V2 codec:

http://rendermonitor.no-ip.com/CG/sunsetHIGH.avi (25.7 MB)
http://rendermonitor.no-ip.com/CG/sunsetMED.avi (4 MB)
http://rendermonitor.no-ip.com/CG/sunsetLOW.avi (1.35 MB)

I am very sory if you get a 403 - Forbidden error. I am currently using the built-in web server of XP Pro, which limits the number of connected users. If you get a 403, or the image above does not show, please check back later.

Looks as if there are artifacts along the edge of the water. Maybe you could add some sandlike beaches along the edge in order to give it something. The land texture looks too flat and doesn't very enough to give it the feeling of a true environment. There's not many rock faces in the hills nor trees and like I said it looks flat. The water reflection at close range looks good but at a distance looks as if there's something wrong with the anti-aliasing rather than ripples. The render looks really nice and so do some of the atmospherics. I'd pump them up a bit to make the mountains seem to fade in the distance and come into higher detail as they approach. Maybe some mist or some other effects would also add to it along the lower surfaces on the water and in the valley.

The artifacts along the water I can't do anything about, terragens rendering system is good in some areas, and bad in others. To save time, it renders less elements the farther away the camera is from the element, but it's cuttoff is a little bit too close to the camera.

I considered making the atmospheris more, but I was semi-shooting to match the first frame to a photo.

Terragen dosn't do low mist, unless you want to have the sky be ultra-funky because you have lowered the entire atmosphere to right on the land and then there is no atmosphere in the sky
:D

fist: YES YES, terragen is poser for landscapes. I wanted a quick, pretty result and didn't need any other objects, so I went for Terragen.

jone: no plugins, just a lot of tweaking with the sky paramaters, the material paramaters, as well as a hand-drawn landscape with Terragens fractals added in just for a little bit of effect.

again, sorry about the 403 errors (did anybody get a 403?, my log indicates that 403's were returned)

This reminds me of taking a cruise through the fjords of Norway... Really nice job!
