Eternally Mine

An exceptional piece of art. I do have one thing I am not sure of, so If I made a mistake diregard my ignorance in the matter. I do not care for her ears bevause the are covered by her earrings and if they do truly exist then they are down played by the fact they are same color as her lovely hair. So are those ears or her hair covering what is to be ears?
:)

I don't see the ear thing as a really big problem, i see what you mean though 'eternally mine', could use some attention.
For the rest of the piece: wow really good!...those eyes...beautifull!
Hope you post an update soon

I like how its coming out! So far its great. The only thing I can add to this is, you should have her shoulder blades at a little bit of an angle because they are COMPLETLY parrallel to the border of the image and it makes her look stiff. If you do that, it will give her a more sense of fluid motion.

Facial features are great! Her body does look a bit stiff, maybe you could add some curves. Her arms are bit thin, i think. Some chubbier/plumpy arms would match her facial features better and make her look more gracious, i think. Otherwise it's coming up nicely. :)

Hmm i really like her face man.Looks like Juhi chawla:love: .Was Juhi your reference? Anyway i think that you should work the body a bit more. The whole looks very refreshing and a brand new style here on the forum.Keep it up brother.

Edit. It reminds me of Holy pictures of krishna too.The style looks similar.Anyway very nice.

Ow yes, this is looking great!, I like that she sits on the moon, cool idea, like she uses it as a swing

I'm looking for something to crit, but can't really find anything, maybe her arms and chest look a little flat, but I gues you will fix that when you add more shadow and highlights in the detailing process.

Keep up the good work

Definitely getting better now.I`m almost in love:love: .I love those kind of characters mate.Very attactive waist  .I would suggest adding some darker tones on the dress for the character to stand out of the image a bit more.Apart from that Ireally love it mate.

I WAS going to say she looks like a Hindu Goddess... but then I saw where you are from and figured that that would explain it. She has a benign expression that shows compassion and love...

The style reminds me of a famous sikh artist who's name escapes me right now but I saw his work when travelling in the himalayas.

It's very nice.

your form and shading are amazing :)
you may be already working on this, but... i would consider putting in some additional shadows to make it look like she's lit from underneath. i would assume the main light source is the moon, although right now it looks like she's lit from the top right somewhere.

I've just remembered the name of that sikh artist i referred to in a previous post.

His name was Sobha Singh.

spism ---> this girl is sitting on the moon, practicaly the main light source should be the moon, but this is a Fantasy kinda painting...so i m not using the moon as a main lightsource...of course i will put some light from underneath but not too much !
anyways thanx for ur time and kind words...looking forward for more critiques and comments.

Okiedo? here we go. *rubs hands*

First off - I absolutely love it. The things I find the most enchanting about it so far are -
-- The absolutely gorgeous look on her face. There's just this 'something' in her eyes - a little streak of wickedness, almost. Mysterious, makes me want to know more about her.
-- The colour combination of the red of her dress and the blue of her skin.
-- The blue of her skin! Wow! I have tried to do blue-skinned people before but I really never pull it off that well.

What I think you need to work on the most is the way the jewellery and the dress 'sit' on her. Especially her necklace doesn't seem to rest on her skin in any kind of way. Also, if it's gold, I think it'll look great to have some of the blue reflect from her skin and onto the metal. As it is, there's almost more 'gloss' to her skin than there is to the jewellery.

Aaaaand... no, actually, that's all I can think of for now. Like I said, it's an awesome picture with the look on her face practically bowling me over. Can't wait to see an update :]

The old one looks better, the second one could be cool if it was a cloud, but not as a moon.
I recommend you stick with the old one

Kyena
03-03-2005, 02:10 PM
Oh Shyam hi :D
I didn't notice you had a wip thread here and I didn't really give a lot of helpful cc after your pm anyway.

I would stick to the first one and develope that a bit further. The second one made me think as if she is sitting on bread...maybe a mix of the two would be great. Some moonish patterns on the first would definately work but I think you made it crumble too much on the second edition.

I just want to stress again how lovely this is turning out (I think I did already on gfx, no? :))
The colours just work so well together it actually makes my mouth water (what a special effect lol).

Something else I totally love about this piece is that it reflects your culture's history but still comes over really modern.

Wow! This is such a well-executed, rockin' concept... *drools over prettiness*

Anyway, I know you've been concentrating on the moon shape--and it's looking quite awesome as a result--but when you do get back to the Gorgeous Blueness herself you might want to add a tiny bit of highlight under her breasts (just to give a little more definition and shape, as she seems to be a rather busty lady).

Also, the regal straight-up-and-even positioning of her hips and chest seem to contrast with the flowing, relaxed feel of the rest of the piece. Maybe a slight body twist would make it look more natural? I find when I sit with my legs crossed like that it's much more comfortable to allow the hip of the top leg to pull up a bit, which would push the chest over a bit, giving the whole body a gentle curve...just an idea! (Sheesh, I'm rambling and incoherant at this hour of morning--my apologies.)

Oh, this is beautiful. I've seen the WIP somewhere before, and I love the progress you're making. My suggestion, don't forget to throw some of the light from the moon on her hair! Unless you're intentionally making it fade out. Right now, it would seem more logical if it were lit from below. But that's the only thing I could think of to crit. :D Keep going!
