looks good to me! anything specific you want to improve? what program did you use?
well maybe i have one thing to say. looks like olden day chinese enviroment but the character looks Caucasian except the hair is black, but if you intended that way its fine.

well i like it pretty sweet i might say
keep up the good work

Hi bins welcome to the forum, I didn't realize the gallery rules that our other admin Leonard had set was covered by the Zbrush announcement... I reposted it here http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=20257 please make sure to read them..

With that out of the way I must say I'm quite impressed with this piece, it's very squaresoft to the point that I believe it could be professional work :) The quality attention to detail, everything is superb!!

I have absolutely no crits on this masterpiece, can you give us some info on the 3D program used to create this? and what renderer was used...

very nicely done... [plugged]

I agree; most excellent work there! I particularily like the lighting for some reason. It's so...soft. :)

The only critique I might have is the collar bones. They seem a little to "flat and long" to me. But then again, I have seen people that have really pronounced collar bones. :)

*gasp*

love that feather ornament she has in her hair, looks so very FinalFantasy :)

09-08-2002, 11:35 AM
thank you for your encourage. i use LightWAVE to do my work.
modleing, textureing&rendering. in this picture, i no use GI because my computer is so........... i think LightWave is a powerful 3d programe.easy to use. i like to use it expect his animation part.
maybe she is not fit for her background, but i think she should be mystical and classical. probably it not effect as i think

sorry for my chinese english......:surprised

i like squaresoft very much. i wish one day i can working with them. :D their work are so Fantasy.

09-08-2002, 12:00 PM
Is this a fully set up shot, or can you show us a couple more angles? I love it, so I want to see the full extent of the scene!:D

09-08-2002, 12:15 PM
Great still! I realy like the mood given through the lighting. And the sweet and dreamy expression on her face creates a special ambience here. Besides I like the brilliant detail of the pattern on her dress. Nice Work

But I`am bothered by two little things here. The border of the mirror in the back seems to be too low Poly. Which is ok in a short scene, where the movement of the camera can cover this. However in a still were people can take more than a short glance on it, you have to be careful with lowPoly geometry.
Second thing concerns the backlight on the right shoulder. Considering the direction of the Keylight, the Highlight on this shoulder might be a little too strong. Even to seperate her from the background. So in my opinion it would be better to reduce the Backlight on that side and maybe put a little more of the backgroundcolor into the light on that shoulder. I think it will integrate the women a bit more into the scenery.

But hey, realy awesome work!
Hope to see more stuff from you

I like it alot! I think it's great but I can see where Hugh is coming from with the backlight. However, Hugh, I don't think that's a mirror back there...looks like a classical Chinese/Japanese painting (unless I'm not seeing the whole image). Excellent work.

BOAH! Excellent! I love the lighting in the scene and her pose. I think maybe she could have had a but more poignant expression. Her eyes look dreamy or maybe bored, her mouth is in a half smile...it's almost as if she's in the middle of an expression. Not that I'm complaining, it still looks great :)
She's got a really beautiful face. I aggree that she doesn't look asian like the surroundings but ah well...

I just wish you'd upload a better JPG...those artefacts are horrible!!!

beautiful modeling and render.

09-08-2002, 02:55 PM

09-08-2002, 04:56 PM
good stuff. i like the lighting (although it looks more like 3ds max as it isnt a GI render), and the modeling job is superb.

one thing tho: her teeth seem a little too big, but that's just an excuse for a crit.;)

keep it up.

09-08-2002, 05:51 PM
Great style!

09-08-2002, 05:52 PM
Good modeling, sweet girl, nice scene!

09-08-2002, 05:54 PM
Fantastic! :applause:
I also love the hair pin thing. Looks beautiful.

For a critique, I also think the window is low polygon. It looks like a mistake - like it should be round.
Also, for a still image, maybe you might tweak the gamma.
Lastly, I think she needs expression - a little. A little happy or sad or curious. Maybe?

In any case, great job and I want to see more!

09-08-2002, 06:35 PM
It's great but...am I the only one that thinks it looks like she's drooling?

09-08-2002, 06:48 PM
Duhreetoh: at first I thought you must be crazy...then I looked at the pic again and...ohno!!! It DOES actually look like she is, LOL! In fact it gives her expression (the dreamy stare and half open mouth) a new meaning, ahaha!

Sorry...I don't really mean like laughing about the pic...I still think it's wonderful but Duhreetoh's comment just made me laugh :D

09-08-2002, 08:08 PM
China production is stronger than HK production now. Sweet, nice stuff. thx for sharing

09-08-2002, 08:55 PM
very nice work

09-08-2002, 09:48 PM
Very nice, but I think the "drool" is part of the jewelry.

09-08-2002, 09:58 PM
Is the background a 3D element or a 2D painting?

09-08-2002, 11:20 PM
I love this piece, and the way it doesn't imediately make me think 'CG'. There's an homogeneity to it overall that I think is really successful and doesn't look like it's aspiring to photorealsim but seems to have found it's own very subtle stylisation. MORE!!!!!! :)

09-08-2002, 11:28 PM
That's beautiful. Great work!:bounce:

09-09-2002, 12:26 AM

Please do a full-length motion picture of this character. I'd find an excuse to see it about once a week or more...

I haven't read all the posts so sorry if its been mentioned before.

COMPOSITION: Perhaps try raising her head upwards as this is where the light is coming from.

RENDERING: Although the Character glow on the Specular shading is done well, you need to use a HDR map in the background instead of glow... the light from the background needs to penetrate the window's round wood frames more like how you've done in the vertical and horizontal wood beems in the centre.

I think Global Illumination was used here, but the controls are a little out. GI or not, her left arm-pit is too grey.

Very hot lips. Yum!

very nice:)
