Ringling School of Art & Design is seeking an instructor to teach Concept Development for animated short films.
Location: Sarasota, Florida, USA
Responsibilities:
The Computer Animation Department is a collaborative teaching environment seeking an animator with concept development experience to join a dedicated animation faculty. This position requires expertise in theories of creativity and creative applications. It involves teaching 3 courses per semester at the undergraduate level using high-end resources. Primary responsibilities include teaching introductory classes in concept development. Active participation in faculty, department, and committee duties is expected.
Qualifications:
Required: Only applicants possessing the following qualifications will be considered:
-Either a Master’s degree in Animation or a related field, OR a Bachelor’s degree with an appropriate record of professional animation achievement
-Ability to teach introductory classes in concept development
-Experience with Photoshop and Premiere
-Experience with story and character development, storyboarding, expressive and descriptive drawing, and film theory
-Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
-Dedication to providing quality instruction
Preferred: Preference may be given to candidates who also have the ability to teach drawing or traditional animation and/or experience with video, sound, staging, acting.
