Ringling School of Art & Design is seeking a new faculty member to teach 3D animation.
Location: Sarasota, Florida, USA
Responsibilities:
The Computer Animation Department is a collaborative teaching environment seeking an animator with Alias Maya experience to join a dedicated animation faculty. This position requires expertise in modeling, texturing, rigging, animating, lighting, and rendering in the 3D environment. It involves teaching 3 courses per semester at the undergraduate level using high-end resources. Candidate must be able to demonstrate strong knowledge and practice of the principles of animation. Primary responsibilities include teaching introductory to advanced classes in 3D computer animation. Active participation in faculty, department, and committee duties is expected.
Qualifications:
-Either a Master’s degree in Animation or a related field, OR a Bachelor’s degree with an appropriate record of professional animation achievement.
-Ability to teach introductory and intermediate classes in 3D computer animation
-Experience with Alias Maya, Photoshop
-Experience with story and character development, storyboarding, film theory
-Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
-Dedication to providing quality instruction
Preferred: Preference may be given to candidates who have:
-Experience with Shake, Nuke, Premiere, Syflex, Bodypaint3D, Painter, Shave
-Experience with video, sound, staging, acting
-Traditional Animation experience
