- That's a great image. Is this from an animation or is it a still.
- Regardless, it's nice work. So many characters, it's amazing.
- I only wish the image was larger so more of the detail could be seen.
01-11-2005, 02:33 PM
Hei man...I'm scared! its fantastic....
Can u post wires and technical info, please?
01-11-2005, 02:45 PM
Brilliant work man, this is top class.
01-11-2005, 02:46 PM
Gr8 Stuff...tons of characters...etc is excellent, i agree with Ed about perhaps a bigger version if possible..
01-11-2005, 02:48 PM
01-11-2005, 02:55 PM
awsome stuff man....really really cool....that be one hell big sword!!!
only one crit...the guy to the left of the light flare (the one holding up
his knife like his gonna really hurt someone) seems to have a very
thin wrist compared to the rest of his body...for such a bulky guy that is..
but other than that this pic has really made my day..
01-11-2005, 02:56 PM
If the game is half as cool as the art it'll be amazing!
01-11-2005, 02:59 PM
Personally I am not a fan of those huge swords, they seem a little cliche to me. Thats not your fault though :) Great job with the models! How long did it take to render everything? I assume each character was on a seperate pass?
Anyway, amazing job, I would love to see a high res render.
01-11-2005, 03:00 PM
Cool, just what the world needs, another fantasy MMO )
It's a fantastic image though, but it looks more like a 2d painting than 3d to me.
01-11-2005, 03:13 PM
Wow, excellent! How long did this take? It holds up as a nice 2d or 3d image.
01-11-2005, 03:18 PM
That is a great looking scene. Well done. If that is part of an animation I would freak. I assume there is a lot of post work in PS on the still? I'd like to see some more technical info just the same, and a wireframe.
I've never played MU, but I read the comic. MU, Mega City 909, and Defiance are awesome works of art all their own. Kanno Kang, and Zack Suh are so talented it's sick! :buttrock:
01-11-2005, 03:26 PM
Wireframe please !! :) ...reminds me a lot of LOTR and Onimusha... but very difficult to innovate in that domain, excellent work anyway !
01-11-2005, 03:27 PM
01-11-2005, 03:33 PM
01-11-2005, 03:38 PM
amazing. The battle is stunning. Did you do this by your self. If yes, how long did it take.
01-11-2005, 03:38 PM
Very nice work. I like the character design and the cool huge swords!
01-11-2005, 03:46 PM
talk abt being in the thick off battle...i'm there.
so youve managed to convey the mood.
sword is a little tooo big me thinks.
01-11-2005, 03:59 PM
Impressive ... bravo :applause:
01-11-2005, 04:06 PM
this really captures an exciting battle sequence, god work.
01-11-2005, 04:23 PM
I would love to see a bigger version.
01-11-2005, 04:32 PM
This is honestly one of the most inspiring peices of 3D art i have ever seen. Great work, and boy is this company lucky they found you to do their artwork.
01-11-2005, 04:34 PM
plzz post a bigger version...im impresed
01-11-2005, 04:34 PM
I would love to see an animation of this
01-11-2005, 04:35 PM
01-11-2005, 04:44 PM
01-11-2005, 04:50 PM

01-11-2005, 04:52 PM
I want to say that I love the image and the game is great.
01-11-2005, 04:54 PM
Impressive work for this scene, great modelling and texturing on this creation, the render looks great too:thumbsup: .
01-11-2005, 04:59 PM
great scene, congratulation !!!
01-11-2005, 05:07 PM
   wonderfull
01-11-2005, 05:15 PM

Simply amazing work! Good composition and everything, definitely a work of art!
01-11-2005, 05:35 PM
woooowwww
01-11-2005, 06:07 PM
Holy wow, that is excellent.
If the game is as cool as your illustration, it's going to be great. (be nice to see a bigger version, though)
01-11-2005, 06:09 PM
Theres a bigger version on his site :) .
01-11-2005, 06:12 PM
that's beautiful, i love the complexity of the scene, and the volumetric effect is really nice. how long did it take to render?
01-11-2005, 06:36 PM
You are a master of composition. Very effective effective viewpoint choice and elements layout. Like the weapons that lead our attention on the tension between the two principal characters.
01-11-2005, 06:37 PM
well I have to say the modelling, lighting, composition, everything are really impressive. But not really expressive. While it's a beautiful image it looks static to me. The weapons appear to be decorative and while I like exagerated size they warriors holding them look like they're modelling them for a show instead of carrying them into battle. I think that while the 3d work in the scene really is great that the theatre is really lagging. With a bit more time invested in what each character was doing, if his/her life was being threatened, what was his/her attitude toward his/her apponent standing three feet away this image would really be exciting.
01-11-2005, 06:40 PM
whatever great work. from small size i assume that there is not such details to show??
01-11-2005, 06:49 PM
 impressive, it looks like an oil painting. good work
01-11-2005, 07:23 PM
hi...well..i can only agree with everyone else...amazing.
if theres one thing to mention its that the main figures do seem a bit static...the sword is also a bit too exagerated.
another thing ive always wanted to know in such battles...how on earth did they know whos side they where on :)
01-11-2005, 07:49 PM
what could i add?
i agree all positive previous crits...
01-11-2005, 08:13 PM
AMAZING WORK !!!
01-11-2005, 08:19 PM
ohhhh my god!! 3D?!? can hardly believe..
please show us a wireframe
01-11-2005, 08:58 PM
whoa, that's the first time i've seen Mr. Ed Harriss post a reply without any sort of crit. :)
Anyhow, regardless, it's a great image. Excellent composition. An incredible amount of detail. I too would enjoy seeing a larger render. Great job.
01-11-2005, 09:11 PM
hey! i play MU! its a great game..
01-11-2005, 09:17 PM
It is so hard to do man .
good luck
01-11-2005, 09:31 PM
MU is a great game.
Too bad it's PvP combats aren't exciting as your render is :)
01-11-2005, 09:42 PM
Excellent work mouth wateringly good!
01-11-2005, 10:19 PM
This work is definitely worth to hang in an italian cathedral :)
01-11-2005, 10:23 PM
excellent style
01-11-2005, 10:25 PM

01-11-2005, 10:51 PM
I won't say nothing new... the image looks indeed incredibly good... bravo :applause:(lots of stars from me :) )
01-11-2005, 11:25 PM
i saw this game, fantastic!
01-11-2005, 11:58 PM
Its absolutely stunning that you modelled all those different types of people. Kudos
01-12-2005, 12:15 AM
Wow! Amazing stuff man!
Superb work! :D
01-12-2005, 02:21 AM
This is really good!
Is it an animation? Really would love to see it move!
01-12-2005, 02:24 AM
There is a really convincing feel of power in this image...whether from the weapons or slightly diagonal composition. Either way, its really successful and very well done. Kudos.
01-12-2005, 02:36 AM
Great picture, the concept is very cliched though and the huge swords always have me rolling my eyes, what is the deal with the huge swords? It's just ridiculous, the guys that make these games should try and pick up a sword sometime in their lives.
01-12-2005, 03:36 AM
I really love the light in this scene. Good work.
01-12-2005, 03:42 AM
Great work man
01-12-2005, 03:54 AM
Great drama...wonderful compostion. Fine work!
01-12-2005, 03:55 AM
at first glance i thought this was a 2d painting... a truly magnificent 2d painting...
but then i find out this is a 3d scene, and i am simply stunned. this is just amazing! really nice job. the depth and motion are both phenomenal. the outfits really give me a sense of good vs. evil.
01-12-2005, 04:43 AM
Wonderful work! There is a great sense of the history/world they live in, shown through their clothes and armour.
I'd love to learn more about the game too....
01-12-2005, 06:11 AM
It is really fantastic! I love the atmosphere it has and the movement even thou it's a still. Simply excellent = http://www.cgtalk.com/images/rating/rating_5.gif
Thank you for your great interest to this work..
This work is performed for not animation but magazine ad. It took a month to set a concept, design 2D and 3D graphic and I used the same characters to I had already made.
large size image and wire image are upload later. my homepage traffic is over --;
01-12-2005, 07:30 AM
like the range of colours for "battle" :)
01-12-2005, 07:53 AM
:applause:
Talk about being involved in the battle. This makes me feel as if I'm standing right there, hearing every outcry and every sound of metal being used.
01-12-2005, 08:37 AM
Incredible, the lighting is absolutly fantastic !!
01-12-2005, 08:56 AM
Amazing beautiful work... I´m stunned
01-12-2005, 09:49 AM

01-12-2005, 11:36 AM
 Amazing work !!
01-12-2005, 12:22 PM
xlent work man i really like ur lighting to.
01-12-2005, 01:23 PM
just one thing ive noticed...it doesnt look like hes holding the sword in a way that when he swings it it would cut someone..it looks like hes trying to squat or batter someone to death with the side of it rather than cutting them...
01-12-2005, 02:45 PM
Wow, makes impression!
01-12-2005, 02:58 PM
what can i say? u make me wanna do more!
01-12-2005, 05:03 PM
Amazing work :). I'd also like to know how long it took to render and see a wire, please.
01-12-2005, 07:18 PM
Really, very good job! Please, show your wireframe!
01-12-2005, 09:45 PM
woww....great job  i like the lighting in the scene :applause:
This is what I call perfection.
Maximum stars from here!
01-13-2005, 01:27 AM
aaah, veeeeery nice!
Gonna head to those urls!
01-13-2005, 01:30 AM
AMAZING... 5 stars...
Wow, this is great! You remind me of Final Fantasy CG.
01-13-2005, 07:34 AM
Holy Funk ....excellent
01-13-2005, 08:40 AM
The composition and set up are excellent  I also like your textures alot.
However, the characters are frozen and lifeless. Try adding some motion in the battle.
And the faces of your main characters are too clean. Maybe they need a skin texture or something to llok more realistic.
Overall great work!!!
really nice work :applause: :] just one question I have - are you doing maybe (or have done already) some other pics, with any of Mu Online chars? cause I used to play a bit (lvl 126 DK on global) some time ago and would love to see some Mu-chars/mobs/world-related renders like this one :]
PS on this scene it is Soul Master on his road into Blood Castle?
01-13-2005, 09:56 AM
would you please be so kind to let us see a wireframe of the scene ?
01-13-2005, 10:56 AM
Holy God - that's phenomenal.
01-13-2005, 11:10 AM
Wonderful and brillaint all at once.fantastic too.
01-13-2005, 11:34 AM
An nyung ha se yo! brilliant work, u are meant to be in tis industry. superb stuff , i like both the main warriors battling each other.
01-13-2005, 12:43 PM
wow...reminds me of some classic fine art (almost)...nice lighting, although with further notice of the characters, they seem to be like manequins posing for battle rather than being "in" the battle.
01-13-2005, 02:32 PM
Very nice work with so many characters...Top quality work.
01-13-2005, 03:06 PM
To be honest, I thought you'd done most of it in photoshop. But seeing these comp pics, I stand corrected. Brilliant work!
My humble awe to you and all of your future works.
01-13-2005, 04:51 PM
Wonderful image. Aside what's been said about the big swords and plasticy skin, I can find no faults.
I think your Z depth layer would look great on its own. Very stylish and cool.
Thanks for sharing,
01-13-2005, 05:25 PM
The brightness of the warrior's white hair and the bright light spot in the background seem to compete a little.
01-13-2005, 06:29 PM
That is incredible. So much going on in the image that I can look at it for a long time and find new things to drop my jaw at. Wish a higher resolution image was available...
01-14-2005, 12:01 AM
The pic looks really Epic like this fight could have been going on already for days. It reminds me of the style of DC Comics Kingdom Come. I actually thought thats what it was before I read your summary. Nice work.
01-14-2005, 04:11 AM
I like the mix of the warriors with the "kind of renascentist" painting style.
01-14-2005, 05:15 AM
Awsome design love it looks very cool
01-14-2005, 06:52 AM

01-18-2005, 04:01 AM
how much does it take to render the scence and how many lights u used?
does u use any kind of rendering systems?
01-18-2005, 11:23 AM
This is seriously good work.
The lighting and atmospherics really set the mood and the detail in the models is astounding.
I just want to zoom in and in and in.
And imagine it animated!! mmmm
Fricken great.

01-22-2005, 08:16 AM
very very impressive :buttrock:
01-22-2005, 03:50 PM
I'm very impress about your picture ! It's seem a painter ...very good light !
01-24-2005, 02:57 AM
Wonderful Visual conception...
I like the gaussian lighting on the hair of the warrior to the left...I like the fact that even though there is an incredible amount of optical movement, and percieved movement in the image, the focus of that character keeps his strength. I do believe that more contrast could have been added to the character on the right (to pull him out of the gray middle tones of the background elements)....but regardless of that, I can see him, so it probably doesn't matter much. Either way, this imagery is great...and I hope that the game sells very well.
01-24-2005, 10:13 AM
Great Job, i like the atomosphere you've created in it, you've achieved a dark and gloomy feel!
01-25-2005, 01:09 AM
This is a very exceptional piee.great scene depicting a great battle.I count 5 characters,But the cloning was done well with various poses.Fantastic work.:buttrock:

Hey I love it! I think you should make some dark wings for your MG! I think that would look great...
And what is with all the people saying they don't like big swords? I wouild rather a big one over a small little weak one any day!
01-31-2005, 04:03 PM
