Is there in Maya3d 4.0 an option like Soft selection in 3dStudio Max 4?

I dont think so. You mean where you select one point and it effects the points around it according to the curve??
well there is sorta a thing like it.
its under modify > transformation tools > Proportional modification tool.
this works within the selection . sorta opposite to the one in max and XSI.
Ive never really used it though.
You can also use the sculp polygons tool.
edit polygons > sculpt polygons tool
This tool works more like the soft selection tool.
have it on Pull. with a feathered brush. Put it to the radius of the points you want it to effect, then click till you get the result you want. That should do the trick too.
Hope this helps.

err actually. i just tried it and its pretty different than the mirai one. the idea is teh same. but the execution doesnt seem to be as clean. it works...but it seems a bit less predictable. since its more procedural than the mirai one you have to delete each magnet node as you mdoel otherwise they will add up when you use transforms. BUT. the claydough script seems that it will be very useful for character rigging:)
I cnat find those script.please send me to email. p242@hx.pl
