i have a little problem with a neck setup for an animal (giraffe) in max.
I need a setup with a body controller and an independant head controller, you should be able to move the body but the head should stay on its position and should't move at all. and the neck shoulb be able to control independantly...
and it should be fast
I already tried it with iks and with look at and position constaints...
it worked with the constraints but it was very slow and you couldn't really animate very well.

so do you guys have any tips for this kind of setup in max or the principles of it in other apps??

i think u need something like a two way spline ik, but i dont know how to set something like this up
