Hmm... My webserver is down... Hope attachments are ok.

EDIT: Yay! It's back!

Took me about two hours using Photoshop and a tablet.

http://raggedy.linuxfrenzy.net/rand/WS_STBOF.jpg

The phrase today just reminded me of 'advice' shouted out by people in the room when I play video games.

Which of course, is a game faux pas. You're supposed to save the big guy for last.

Man I feel so depleted.

I spent like 3 hours trying to figure out what to draw and doing all sorts of experiments messing around but nothing I could really grasp or finish. So I started doodling which i usually do and came up with this.

Not sure if its clear but the chain gang is in front of a firing squad, and the big dopey guys are about to get clobbered. The technique and color needs lots of work but the expressions on the giants crack me up.

Zem: Love oyur interpertation of the topic
Sir Liumps: Love the poses, tells a good story
Illumino: I love your dark humor

Hey, I love this topic and the daily sketch idea. I need something to make me draw. BTW, am I supposed to officially join the DSG or something, or do I just start posting as I already have?
Anyways, this is my shot at it. Goro and Andrewley: How can you do that in so little time??? Your artworks are gorgeous. There's lots of talent here, but you guys are really inspiring. I like everyone's interpretations, too: There are more clever people in the world than there appear, apparently. Anyway, have I sucked up to everyon enough yet? This is mine. I did it with:

A pencil, blending stump and about 1.75 hrs.

DoInferno:these are just about the most menancing golems i've ever seen.....

Zem: very punny.

Eug3ne: I like the watercolour texture!

Sir lumps: great colour and concepts. I'm voting you for the level up this week!

Tadbit: You might want to add a bit more definition. Good composition though
J.Grieve: Reminds me of a Larson cartoon......that's good! Larson is the king!
Illumino: I like it!
Supervlieg: Somebody's been trying out FridayEve's style!! :-)
Goro: Wow!
The bigXR:I like your 2nd try, it turned out well!
Jacobweiner: it's cute but i'm not sure what's going on!
Crimsonstring:I like the bgcolour
Doomdragon: Good background!
Froma:I like the white for the outlines. That's a good style, develop it.....
Octothreat:Ozymandias?
Andrewley: Wow!
Drewblit-You could use a bit more contrast!
the_nr:good colours. What's the thing in the foreground in green though?
Fantastic:I like the contrast but their postures are rather odd!

Welcome back SuperV!
Andrewley THAT ROCKS!! (Do I smell sketch of the week here?)
Excellent entries everyone.
DoInferno - I know how you feel. We may never be a great as the great ones, but the more we practice and get tips, the better we will be. I just keep hoping that all in one week the following folks have network or computer problems: Goro, SuperVleig, FridayEve, Vitriolic, Cyanid, GOT, MustardWash, Keem, Roberto, Andrewley, bigXer, gordonm, ilikesoup, doomdragon, drewblit...etc. Because only THEN would I have a chance at sketch of the week! :bounce: :D

Robin - I just didn't have time to spend this evening on a sketch - so that quick retro graphic fitted well - But your interpretation is better than mine - I love astroids and you do shoot the big ones first, but it was those damn little ones tiling around the screen that used to get me....HYPERJUMP!....Str8 into another......i hate u hyperjump.

Friday - WOW oh WOW, WOW, WOW! That is marvelous, maybe one of your best yet!

embryo - looking at yours I can hear that kind of heartbeat sound in my head, and its getting faster and FASTER...AAACK, can't shoot fast enough!

You know though, that by doing these entries we are more or less admitting our age! Some of the young whipper-snapper college types on this board probably have no idea what these 2 posts are all about! :)

Octothreat - glad you liked it (please see age comment above - hee hee!)

Logick & Captain Chapo - welcome back, haven't seen you in a while...those are a couple of nice sketches!

gordonm - I like #2 better...is this like the eye exam? Which is better? Number 1 or number 2? 1...or 2....?

I have no faith in the colors my monitors are producing. One looks too blue, one looks too red, but I'm not sure which is right and calibration software isn't cutting it.....maybe time to get a new monitor.
