I wanted to just express an emotion with this one, which I have not previously worked much on. This was also one of my first works in painter. though I did the initial outline in open canvas. I was watching all those .wpe files and was inspired to try it. But soon decided painter's tools were just better.

It took about an hour and a half total time, no reference.

Good start but this looks more sleepy than pained. If you have access to it Gary Faigin has an excellent book on facial expressions for the artist.
