Cool beans doomDragon. I don't think your monitor is calibrated too poorly because I can see it... or both of or monitors are calibarated poorly. That picture is very EMO! Somehow I think this thread might become "teenage angst" rather than paint it black.
Anyways here is mine, I thought I'd just do the pencil sketch today and add some shadows to highlight the "black". This will be my last Daily Sketch post for a while so goodbye everybody! I'm going back to to school tommorrow! Man, home is good but boring!

I definately should have looked at the thread before doing this. I saw the topic early this morning and have been working on this on and off all day...now by comparison I see that [edit: I missed the concept of "black" that everyone else seemed to have keyed in on.]

Heres, mine took a fair amount of time. Probly around 2 hours, what with tiny details no one would ever notice but me. This is my second submission, first one was more of a joke, this one is the first I actually worked on hard.

Thank you Nam GEE and DrawMonger. I just felt like I missed the idea of "black" which everyone else seemed to have picked up on. Sorry if I broke an "unspoken rule" - I'll edit that comment out.
Vitriolic - love both of your posts! :buttrock:
Telemaco - welcome back! You are not obsolete, I love that sketch. Has a very emotional impact!

Good work everyone!
Fridayeve - great drawing as usual
Goro - the parent and child transform an interesting drawing into a portal for the imagination! - its like it begs to be make into a movie or animation
Sir Lumps - great expression of rage, great concept
robin - I think we have all wanted to make a "loud object d'art" become as close to invisible as possible!
vitriolic - I like the second image alot. This guy is on one heck of a rampage! By the time this guys is through, his whole world will be black!

Thanks digital_embryo!
Wow, this thread is totally a test to how well your monitors are adjusted! I found that if I tune the my monitor at different settings, brightness/contrast AND white/black point, and gamma I get different results with many of the paintings! Try it out. Maybe this thread should be "Adjust your monitor" as opposed to the one a week ago "Don't adjust your monitor"
