Hi there,

I am /thinking (which really means soon) going to try to include zbrush into my pipeline. Its popularity has grown tremendously. I now see it commony being used to push basic models to new heights. My question is for those who work in big companies etc and alot with softimage.

How does zbrush communicate with softimage as good as any other app or no. Seeing people have some problems with bump mapping has made me question this

Does this pipeline which im see more and more on the forums praticed by more small business and freelancers ...3dapp to zbrush to back to 3dapp

Last what are the draw backs of this method specifically and non specificly with using xsi
Are render times tremdously slower etc etc?

thanx

There's a big thread over on ZBC with people trying zbrush with all sorts of different apps, might give you some idea, there's also sample .obj's and displacement maps exported from zbrush so you can see for yourself how you get on with it.

With a bit of mucking about I was able to get pretty close to everyone elses results, did have me swearing at the pc at first though..(render times seemed not bad to me btw.)

Here's a thread form XSIBase with more zbrush > xsi info.

Might be of some use.
