hi,It's interesting,I like it,:) good style. Are you going to do the animation for that?
First of all: i really like this piece, seriously i like it but:
- the concept is not that original, i've seen this once before with a snowman i think, exactly same setting and concept (and it reminds me of I robot somehow).
- the eggs wont ever remain that position, they would roll over. Maybe you should animate them with reactor so you get a very messy look. That would be more original.
- i dont like the DOF, too grainy.
- i think the lighting is rather poor. Dont have a clue to improve this so dont take it personally.
Textures are very nice, simple but nice.

Way too blurry! Otherwise, quite nice.

I agree with the hap-hazzard animating. Anyways, that egg is never going to make it to the end of the production line but it was fun while it lasted. =oP

What if it was the equinox? :)

Very cute :) The "focus" being on those two random eggs is kind of weird though

Making the whole thing blurry like that is cool, but it distracts from the whole meaning of the piece. So you have an egg that is special, but how can you possible see what it is being compared to?

I know I know... I'm gonna sound like an asshole... but someone's gotta say it :O) ...it's a freakin waste of time, it's worthless... everytime I explain my co-werkers and friends why I hate "CONCEPTUAL ART" in the academic meaning of it I give them the exemple of a young arts school student who's first piece is a freaking egg placed on a table in the middle of an empty room, suggesting that there's a lot to think about over the topic... probably because of those that I actually don't go to any student art exhibitions anymore... I'd rather tidy up my kitchen a bit and take a sit in there for a few minutes, I'd get probably more thinking out of it than dragging my lazy butt to the modern art galleries nowadays.
Anyway, beyond the fact that there's not so much thinking behind that piece... there's not even more than 2 minutes of actual real preparation work before rendering on top of it (I gave it a try) which makes your work even more uninterresting... at least in a real exhibition, someone would have to actually buy the eggs, mark one of em, and THEN try to convince an art gallery to host it for even one day, which would be the only part of the process I would really give credit for.
So yes... very impressive, I have absolutely no idea how you fooled the moderators here to have you picture allowed to be posted on this site, Bravo ! :)
As for the constructive part of my comment, it's not getting any better :
- Lighting is indeed very poor, direct shadows and reflections are messin up the scene... making it confusing rather than esthetic, which wasn't so necessary here as the bad setting of DOF was already doing quite a good job over that matter.
Overall conclusion... that pic is an offense to the great artists and passionate 3D students you can find find in this community, some of em even wait years of experience before daring posting anything out here... and there you come anonymously with your eggs... indeed, you are very different and special.

Adriano_Zanetti: ouch !! :D
Jason_Bourne: Dont give up, spend 5 more mins on the angle, composition, dof and lights.
Actually more than 5 min, bcoz these simple scenes need something extraordinary to make them look interesting.

When your bad english was excusable, the misspelling of my last name when it is actually written right on top of the previously posted ass whoop I dedicated to your piece of FART, is NOT!
You should thank me for telling you the truth about you pic rather than wondering about my anal health which obviously doesn't interrest anyone in here... So once again, if you thought that cgtalk is a place to reward lazyness and mediocrity... you were wrong.
However, if you hear me right, I don't tell you to quit... I just beg you to stop pooping around here.

I have to agree with zanetti on this point. (while the rest of his first post is harsh, he brings up some mildly good points) Personally I'm tired of looking at these objects that are considered "art" to some. (Like that screws and the floor post a while back). Ugh. w/e.

Ok m0og0o, I respect your opinion and I understand it.
I made this image, was to me graceful and i posted.
It did not hope to find people with as much rage as Zannnneti to see a simple image. Its incredible.
After all is only a image, I have not killed anybody, ŋor not Zannnneti? :curious:

I think if you wanted to ilustrate such an overused concept you should have searched for a more interesting point of view. I donīt mind that they are eggs there or that is was easy to do, but it just looks like a clichee to me. And an immage with a good concept should speak for itself, as it already does, you really donīt need text to tell you what you already see. Itīs like a cheap comercial, especially because the font is soo ugly..
And hey, donīt get mad, itīs just an opnion, even if itīs not a right one. Itīs good to see different points of view, Iīm sure you can find something useful in all the critics.

Dear Jason, zanetti is right about lots of things and I agree with some of them. It was the tone that probabliy was bothering you, but hei, some people might have a bad day from time to time. You shouldn't get so frustrated and personal about it. He was polite in terms of you personal, but very harsh against your work wich is, let's say it a beginer work. But before posting here, imho, you should check the CG choice gallery and try to acheive something like that.
Mr Zanetti :) !
Man, I thought I was harsh when criticed that 'froggy green Buda wannabe' but you were razor sharp :) ! Chill, man, the kidd is a newbee who took it very personal. Try beeing more constructive, for the forum's sake :) ! I am using so many smileys because I am veerrry amused about all this argument. You are so God damn right about big parts of what you sayed, but you did it like a young Centaurus, not like an old man!
Please go to students exhibitions, especially to those who are still etching and engraving for days, using the old traditional renaissance technics but updating the message with theyr new blood (it was an invitation ;) .

Aiiight guys, my bad... diplomaty is defenitely not one of my very few qualities, I dind't mean anything personal against "Jason Bourne" (Jason bourne... what a rip off of such great fiction character) ...but I have to admit... that sorta post tickles me the wrong way as I'm the son of a 57 years old artist painter (count 43 years of experience in that... youngest student of the "beaux arts" in Rouen... ever!) so I obviously grew up in the small world of regional modern art of my hometown... anyway, just to say that I know too well how hard it is to come up with something you can start calling a "piece of art".. it requires skills and even talent, and true commitment. So when looking at that 2 clicks-egg array's job I naturally thought that "Jason" was some sorta SM wannabe 3D artist who needs a lil kick to grow more mature in his work and self jugement... as I like to consider myself as a very generous person, I had to help and give him what he asked for.
But it doesn't cost me much to apologize now if I caused any harm to anyone, I'm so not around for that purpose.
However Jason, if you want to make it up to all those who wasted time reading your post so far, try to improve your pic and have something coming out of those eggs, I dunno, whatever characters that pop up in your mind... a lil help here... chicken could do the thing. put some randomness and chaos in there to make it look more achieved and personal, then maybe... I will restrict myself to NOT post comment over your thread and move on directly to the next one.

Zanetti started this with an overly harsh critique of a first-time poster. Yes, it contained constructive parts, but it was also full of anger and publicly humiliating for the recipient.
Then Bourne continued the silliness by going into another thread Zanetti was critiquing, and jumping on him there, and also jumping on Zanetti's own thread. It's probably a full-scale vendetta by now, with both of them hating each other's guts and planning to jump on each other whenever they can.
You've both behaved like children, although Zanetti started it so he gets 60% of the blame. No more of this crap, or else. Now let's calm down and BE NICE.

I didn't erase any of your replies, must have been another mod. Perhaps those posts were shorter and even more angry?
That mod obviously didn't know about the reason behind your post, but I took the time to track down what had happened, and post here so you both could read it. I don't have deleting powers. Maybe later, when you've both calmed down, I can ask another mod to delete all the posts between you 2.
