Hi all, take a look at Speedy's site - http://www.speedyshow.com (http://www.speedyshow.com/) , and if you like, download the first episode of Speedy at http://www.speedyshow.com/moviepage.htm, a project which we, here at Luma Animation in South Africa are currently working on. For more info on Luma Animation, check out our website @ http://www.lumastudios.com (http://www.lumastudios.com/)

Our Speedy team is comprised of 4 animators, split into two teams per episode and kept in line by three very necessary individuals:- the director, our producer and the creator of the concept, Tim Mostert. We are producing 26 one minute episodes, hopefully to be followed by longer format programs soon.

Speedy is being broadcast by one of the local television channels, but will hopefully be on air internationally once the first full series is completed, as it received great feedback at MIPCOM in France last year.

Hope you enjoy...

Looks like a ton of fun! Great job, cool one minute format. Only 4 animators on the project? How is the workload?

Are these animations part of a show like Seasame Street? How has the response been from local viewers?

Looking forward to more episodes!

It is a lot of fun! We're taking about 2-3 weeks per 2 man team per episode, from start to totally rendered & comped, with sound. Paul, the director also pitches in with 3d animatics and lighting whilst we're animating, to streamline the process.

Speedy is a first for South Africa, and as Luma is currently largely self-funding the whole thing in collaboration with the creator, Tim, they are more concerned with doing it right and producing something they're happy with, than rush it and regretting the results.

The show could probably be compared to a Simpsons-type situation, with the primary character, his family and friends, and their unique community.

The local response has been very positive, particularly as many of the situations are quite unique to our country, althought the gags can be enjoyed by anyone!

2-3 weeks! quick turnaround, killer job by the art team. Great to see the project self produced. I'm sure the series will be a big sucess!
