View Full Version : URGENT!! pci-express question.
rob-beddall 01-05-2005, 09:10 AM hey!!
will a XFX GeForce 6600 256MB PCI-E work with a motherboard that doesn't support pci-express?
i know it obviously wouldn't be able to take advantage of the pci-express technology but what i want to know is would it work at all?
cheers!!

PCI and PCI Express use physicaly different connectors beside all other technical differencs. You won't even be able to plug in the card, let alone use it.

hey!!
i'm not 100% sure that my motherboard ISN'T pci-express compatible.
i don't have any of the docs that came with it.
does any body have a link to what a pci-express slot looks like?
i've tried googling but i really have no i dea about tech stuff.
i have 1 brown slot. (think thats the agp)
and i have 5 white slots that are identical.
what colour should the pci-express ones be? and what do they look like?
cheers!!
