BluntTrauma b119 has now been released at: http://www.bhodinut.com/home/download

It is a free beta.

Among the new features ( and a, uh humm, bug fixes ) is:
Interia Node, Period Noise Node, WAV sound support with frequency filtering and channel amplitude ( mono and stereo left and right channel outs ). Also, you can now biew any parameter value in the tool tip.

There is an example file of the WAV support at:
http://forum.bhodinut.com/viewtopic.php?t=570

It includes comments ( our tool tips allow multiline comments ).

have fun!

Thanks!

So, I guess it is time to focus on the whole gathering, documentary movies, and examples for BT huh?

Darf, I think so.

BTW, would you be interested in doing a realtime presentation of BT in chat sometime?

I have little experience with CHAT presentations ( never done one ). I did some instructional chat based sessions on RenderMan about ten years ago on AOL. What kind of CHAT client? Does it provide for images?

no, but you'd have the ability to transferre data directly via DCC, any type of file.

I don't know exacltly how you'd want to work it, since I have no experience at all with BT. But what I would suspect is an instruction where you tell people what to do, they follow your instructions in realtime sort of like an interactive tutorial.

Dan Nichols, a good friend of mine, did such an instruction exactly that way on using Deformers in another piece of software and we all left it with a huge amount of new knowledge.

hmmm... well yahoo chat has video streaming so you could have the video camera pointing at your screen and just bring it up close for the important bits (just a thought) yahoo has video chat for both us mac users and the pc users out there which is why i suggest that (as well as file transfer for screen grabs etc)

that would be cool... only I'd prefere it not be on Yahoo. The spam I got the last time I joined yahoo was beyond belief.

I suppose I could try ICQ again, assuming they've cleaned up the program.

The only problem with video is that not everyone is on DSL. There are still not a few using ISDN or even 56K modems.

yes... hmm i'm looking into the possibility of finding (or programming) a basic sort of chat program/server that enables the server user to take snapshots and for that snapshot to go out to everyone... but i've not seen anything yet, and there are no guarantees... could always set up a local webserver on a machine (mac osx comes with apache preinstalled so it would be easy for me to do) and just have your screen capture applicatino dump files into there, then get people to download the images at the appropriate times... the only trouble with all of this is that it would in this case eat up darfs bandwidth like crazy if there were several of us logged on all downloading like crazy each time he took a snapshot. maybe it could be done (on an apple) with applescript so that whenever you took a snapshot it would be uploaded to a remote server, angelfire or whatever where eveyrone could view it through their browser... dunno... hmmm. webcasts webcasts... such a pain. :/

In IRC they have a virtual server where you can download directly off the hosts's harddrive. FServ they call it.

DCC is easier, however. It's pretty effective.

We've done a few of these on ErrorCode50 over the years.

Consider me completely ignorant of current chat systems.

I would think a presentation would require a couple of things:

A good chat client that responds fairly solid with the ability to have my comment show up in bold ( call it an ego thing ).

For me to be able to forward a file to one or many of the invidiuals online.

Video streaming. I have a large marker board here I could use to explain things ( it really does work better ) as well as using it for screen capture display ( is that possible? Streaming screen captures? Or possible a stream of images by me?

STABILITY.

Suggestions ( including links so I may investigate ) are welcome!.

Video Streaming really isn't practical even if it is possible, due to the large number of people with slow connections.

File Transferre is simple and fairly fast.

http://www.mirc.com
http://www.pirchat.com

The two most popular chat clients.

Is there one that supports Mac ( classic/OSX ) and Windows?

http://www.ircle.com :D

If you use #3D_ErrorCode50 for that we'll be connecting to a Galaxynet Server.

There's a list of them here:
http://www.galaxynet.org/servers.php
All the servers being interconnected, you can be on any one of them at all.

3DGladiators.com also has a Chatroom on the Galaxynet called #3DGladiators

great ideas guys! :) i'd really appreciate an instructional chat session-especially if darf is the instructor:D . i think that an irc chat would be the best solution for everyone cause that is accesible for every user, no matter what connection he has.
