Hi all,

Does anyone know why the quarter of a sphere, converted to Edit Poly, then extruding its polygons, looks like this? (the lower eyelid)

I'm assuming by the attachment you're using geosphere, not normal sphere?

If not... WHAT DA HECK DID YOU DO???

How exactly did you extrude the faces?

What OS are you using?

Actually, no. It was just a regular Sphere.
Well, I simply selected all the outside polygons while at the polygon sub-object level. Then in the Extrusion box I entered 1 as a value, and that's it.
The strange thing is that I did exactly the same thing for the lid above, yet only the one below turned out like this.

Maybe all those odd faces normals are flipped. Fix that, or try giving the mesh a 2-sided material.

Hrmmm.. I don't suppose the bottom sphere object is mirrored from the top one?
If so, you could try running a 'reset xform' from the utility tab, then make sure all normals are unified, and then extrude.
See if that achieves anything

I've seen this kinda thing in game art, not so much in max though..
