A brilliant, innovative cartoonist. The Spirit was a great comic, and his Comics and Sequential Art should be required reading for any cartoonist. A sad day, indeed.

Man that is bad news. My condolences to his family and friends. He was a great influence to a generation. My favs of his were "the building" and "A Contract with God and Other Tenement Stories". Thanks for a lot of good times!
If you are a fan of Will Eisner or are interested in learning more about him I ran across this the other day. Its a new book coming out about him and Frank Miller (SinCity) and thier working process.

I had met Will a couple of years ago at one of our local conventions. A very humble, kind man who's contributions to storytelling and art in general will be sorely missed. It is so strange that I was just thinking about him this morning. He had agreed to allow me to do a portrait of him and to come visit him at his home when it was possible when we first met and now regret that I didn't follow up on it when I could of.
Will, you will be sorely missed
Thank you for your gifts you shared with the world and thank you for reaching out to the invisible people.

He was legend to artists and other comic creators. Really was a big influence on me especially the Spirit stuff.
My thoughts go to his family.
Another one of the legends passes on into eternity... his like we shall not see again.
My condolences to his family and friends.

He'll certainly be missed. I met him about 2 years ago when he was invited to give a lecture during a class at the community college I was attending. Fascinating man, and amazing artist.
