Nice!
The girl in the mouth is kinda funny. Doesnt look like shes trying very hard to escape.

The old adage about never filming with kids or animals - I'm afraid the young actors were getting a bit tired after a few days of filming, and getting a good performance out of them was hard work. This was the only shot where the keying was adequate. Unfortunately there was no budget for reshooting anything :(

I wonder if you could bring the girl into her own composition in AE (or whatever you're using) and try cutting her arms and legs into separate layers, hinging the legs at the hips and the arms at the shoulders. Then try animating the limbs a bit by hand or procedurally. Maybe not too much but a just a bit so there was a bit more randomness to the flailing. Shes pretty much seen side on the whole shot--so that would allow for a bit of playing with.
Very ambitious shot though! I love the motion of the snake.

Good thought Joel - might be worth a try. I am having to speed through this process. I have about a week left and a load more shots to finish. The models are almost all done, I am rendering everything seperately and then building the shots in AE (using 3d layers if there is camera movement).
cheers

Cool--keep us up to date. Even if others arent watching this thread--I am :)
We had to do some effects shots for an indy film awhile back--just had a few weeks to do a load of shots. You kind of do the best you can in the time you have.

Joel
Any shots from your film online?
This film is only 10 mins, but with at least 2.5 mins of compositing, or CG environments with animation. I am just glad Cinema has a good fast renderer.

Here are a couple shots. Brace yourself though--the keying and footage is pretty bad. :)
The concept was kind of dumb too (had nothing to do with the film other than effects.)
We did a bunch of other effects too that I dont have up now.

Joel, very nice design and atmosphere on those environments, a real sense of vast space. I remember seeing these when you posted them first time round. The eyes are freaky, a homage to the Dali sequence from Hitchcock's Spellbound, perhaps?

Thanks basilisk
The director was a big Brazil fan--and there were references to it in his film. There was an unused sequence from Brazil that had similar elements (sea of eyeballs) and we referred to that.
