Beautiful picture Reinier, I love the feeling of your rendition.

Doondragon, I really like your picture also, looks to be a free hand painting. What caught my attention was the champaign glasses and the softness of the image.

This is a "What if..." New Year's card.

"What if Iraqi insurgents sent out New Year wishes?"

Photoshop CS -- a few hours, probably 5 or 6 in all.

Here's another one.. this time more sadistic. In the city where i live LOTS of people have LOTS of dogs. A good portion of them let their dog poop on the sidewalk so i have stepped numerous times on dogshit on nightly strolls. (maybe i should be doing this to those dog owners...)
Anyways: 1.5 hours or so... hope you enjoy!

GOT - loving that picture. I am still learning new ways of using PS. Could you be so kind as to do a little tutorial on how you get such great lines in your art - everytime I try to do something similar it ends up all wobbly and rubbish. Much appreciated,

\m/ Quick reply (before I run off to work...), I use Adobe Illustrator which is vector based. Thats how I get the good line work. I've tried using Photoshop to get the same line look and it can be done but is a lot harder to get the same effect and its ends up not looking quite so nice.

Hey MVP, I should also point out that I'm using a Wacom tablet. That helps a LOT! I used to rely on custom brushes in Illustrator to get the line variations, but the tablet makes it a miracle to achieve some things. I have made several calligraphy brushes and adjusted their attributes and then use those now. Does that help? Thanks

Cheers for that - i will have a play around tonight.

So, if I draw a line with me wacom pen , will Illustrator atomatically smooth it out?

GOTgraphic
01-05-2005, 03:59 PM
Yes, Illustrator will to a degree smooth out the lines (adjusting the preferences can either automatically smooth them a lot or not at all).

You can also edit the line-points after the segment is drawn to correct for mistakes and get a better look.

The more you use the Wacom the better you get (I'm only a novice with it). I was lousy at it in the first week or two... now I'm ok at it (I think... heh). There's a lot to do with it (regarding Illustrator) that I haven't attempted yet.

GOT - you aren't just good...you are GREAT!Well thanks  Kind of hard to think that though, when I can't get a job doing graphic designing :banghead: ... and all my relatives are layers, doctors, engineers, scientists, etc... sigh... oh well (but I’d rather do what I’m doing than what they are :D ), you'd think they would need some good art to put on their boring walls
