I feel wierd posting in this forum since all I see is an amazing work... and I'm a noob... but here it goes.

I am trying to make a dragon for my WIP "Cliff Of Death" (A dragon attacking a knight that has a spear and a shield on a cliff. The dragon is being surrounded by clouds and all that...).

Here's the dragon (I'm using Photoshop and a mouse.. and the quality of the image isn't very good... it looks better in photoshop than on net):

I have hard time with his legs. I want him to spread the claws in an attacking position... not sure how that should be done. Tried several times and failed.

Any C&C will be so much appriciated.

Two things that help a lot if you haven't tried them: rough pen/paper sketches, references. It has also helped me immensely to surf around the site for ideas and suggestions. There's a ton of tutorials on here as well.

Keep updating, I love seeing people's progress!

Hi there!
Heres my little comment.
I have a problem with the wing. That's not a big problem, but if u want, u can correct it.
As i can see u tryed to make a similar wing like the BAT has. So heres the pic, what will tell everything:

The "arms" have got too many break point on it. I think they have only 1 elbow

That's all .
BTW
Cool pic, i liket it let see the updates.

Thanks for replies guys. I also recieved some help from gfxartist.com and here's what I have for now. I know that the dragon sketch itself is only 40% complete, I still need body, legs and of course the head, but I'll do them when I'll get back to Florida tonight. This isn't going to be the final "it". Just like what happened to the last sketch will probably happen to this and I'll remake and will keep going untill I'll get something I like.

I was actually going for dragon wings but they came out too flat and looked like bats. Thanks for the reference though. :)

But here it is:

Thanks. One of the artists there was very helpful. He told me to be more flexible with design. Give creature some motion and dimensions. He also drew a sketch of his idea of a dragon and explained how he drew it. So, with the reference and some tips it got a bit easier.
