View Full Version : Weird problem.....bug?
neilyb 09-04-2002, 07:37 AM Below is a picture to illustrate exactly what I mean, but basically there seems to be an instance of a spline object. I have checked all my instances and none correspond to the object "copperspiral" infact I have renamed it it a few times. BUT, when I move the object out of the group the "ghost" object no longer appears.....
You will also notice that something happens to my objects windows...this happens when I use render region sometimes??
PS - if I put the copperspiral object into any Null Object the ghost appears....?

I not shore if its a bug iv had this problem a few times when bringing objects in to a scene, i think its down to naming.
example if i had a scene with a loftNurbs that has been instanced,
then i bring in a new loft object/ I often end up making new models in a empty file then cuting and pasting it into my master scene, then the instances that are from the orignal loft can get converted to the new one because it has the same name LoftNurbs. make any scence?

I get you, but having renamed the objects before cutting and pasting I shouldn't have this problem, right? Also I have searched all the instances I have and none correspond to the object name or the original "helix" name......?
So the spline is generating the instance?,yes.......My only other thought is that your ghost is being generated by a symmetry object and is a symmetry object instance.
If none of that helps try copying everything into a new project with a new name and see if it dissapears :)

Well, since the ghost disapears when the main spline is in the root I wonder if Cinema instances only look at or under the level that they are at, not above? Of course, I have many symetry objects, but how does my ghost get generated by one of them?
I thought maybe you may have had an extra copy of something you didnt know about in a sym object seeing as you could not find an instance :)

No, I can't find anything that would duplicate this object and then make it smaller....? Never mind, as long as I can render.....can't ever group it though.......
