Thanks for the comments (weird that I am thanking before I got them - almost like I KNEW some that Daniel would tell me about the thread rules.... :p)
I am planning on doing a tutorial, mostly modeling, but would like to know if anyone would even be interested. Its all lightwave, but im sure the concepts carry.

Very Cool!

Hehe...the M3 is back
U made the car shorter than the real one, why not also higher.
Do U know the "cartooncars.com" It looks like U tried to do car like that?
The Sky is cool. Just a image? Skytracer? Texture?
Is that a Global Ilum. rendering?
The chrome arround the grill need more reflection.
Oh one more. Have U read the rulez for the board? The Thread Title should be clear, so that everone know what he`will find inside.
:shame:
Cya.

Thanks for the heads-up Daniel. To answer your questions:
The sky is skytracer,
its a standard render (which still needs some lighting tweeks, but will do for now),
and I agree about the chrome :).
Thanks for the interest

Hey I remember this! Anyway, I like what you've done with it, I prefered the blue or yellow 1, but that's just my taste. If I had to crit anything it would be that the corner lamp(orange) looks like it isn't textured. Nitpicking, but that would look better with a little texture, amazing job Earl!

beautiful, but kinda strange, the m3 to me represents a sports car with big muscle, by this picture you've kinda degraded the car, it seems like a miata now. The modelling is beautiful and all, and the selection is perfect, but i'm not sure about that 'stubyness' theme....
one more thing, i would blur the wheels, like the car's going fast as hell, and if there's a close environment like ground, or a road, possibly blur that too...besides that, great modelling, looks professional!

Thanks for the comments (although I wish there were more. Always seems a little lame having more from me than anyone else)
Is that the Igor Popovic of 3d-io.com? Or is tha Igor Posavec?
Anyway, as far as the blurred things go - that is kinda the plan, but doesn't show off the modeling, which is the purpose of this render. Want to get crits on all bits, including the wheels which took AGES!
I mean who can really resist Lightwave's beautiful motion blur :)
Tbonz816: I know what you mean about the colour. I liked both of the other colours, but settled on this one for this scene. Very fond of the yellow though - which is what it will be in the "super-fast-amazing-radness!" render :).

Thanks AnimalMother
One interested party is enough for me :). I will get started right away, and post the link (since it will be on my site - naturally :p ) as soon as its done.
Would you prefer if I put up as I finish the sections, or wait until its ALL done, then put the whole lot up?

Well i am not a very patient person when it comes to very cool things so i would prefer it if u could put up the tutorial in chunks as u finish them. :)

Yeah, do it in chunks! We'll all (that is except for the pros here...) work along... :buttrock:
huh, I like it, It looks just like a micromachine car
but build at a true human size :applause:
And I'm always interested in tutorials, and that always can help people

Thanks Guys
I will get a working at full speed, but you know how it is. Weekends need to factor in the lady aswell ;-).
I will make sure it goes up as quickly as is humanly possible. But since I've never made a tutorial before, it would be helpful if, as I go, you make comments about what is useless, and what is missing.

SD M3, cooollll:eek:
haha, coolness
I think thats how most tuners wish they could make their
cars nowadays, just to the 10th level
you know, huge wheels, exagerated flares and such.
Anyways this is a perfect charicature of a car

It's hard to comment without reitterating what has been posted previously. It's an excellent model that is well lit and rendered, the car is almost absurdly short but it looks great and if that's the effect you were after then well done!

Weew! That looks sweet. I just think the licence plate needs a bump! The two little round thingies as well as the letters are elevated.
