CGTalk - linking objects

ok, I'm modeling something and when I'm trying to link an object A to another object B, object A has a tendency to move out of place. I was wondering if anyone knows why this is happening and what I can do to fix it.

At the risk of sounding obvious.....
If you are linking and using the link tool and dragging perhaps you are accidentally moving the object too. (sorry I've never heard of this problem before otherwise.)
Make sure that the move tool is not highlighted in the tool bar but choose the selection tool instead or alternatively press on the link icon (toolbar) and press the hotkey 'h' to bring up the selection list and select the parent that way.. it's usually an easier way to do it anyway. If it isn't this .. sorry.... pass
